Depending on how loud the hissing is! If it isn't very loud it is probably corrosion on the burners. If your blames are more yellow than blue, you have corrosion building up. So I suggest using a wire brush to clean it up and then using a small ice pick to clean the gas outlet.

I have a 3 or

The gas in the bottle is not a just pure gas but it is contain also very small quantities of oils and dirt. So with long time use they are creating a thin layer over regulator and valve parts, like springs and injector rods which make them to stuck. This what is happening with th tank gas valve which you may turn the regulator but the inside parts are stuck. Sometimes if you hit a litle bit it can work again but this is not a solution. The solution is to replace the tank gas valve with new one. Also you should know that since you have this problem with tank valve then most posible to have also some problem with burners gas valves in the future. One way to avoid this and also with the new tank valve is when you realise that the gas tank is almost empty the is better to replace the tank since the last gas in geting out the most of the above mention oil and dirt and end on the valves.

NO. Weber grills have never been approved for gas conversions. That's why they made/make Natural Gas models & Propane models. Doing so, puts all the liability in your lap, if some thing should go wrong. If you have any doubts, check your Owner's Manual under "Warnings."

How do i remove the

Turn the gas tank valve OFF by turning the tank valve clockwise. Then disconnect the hose from the tank valve and remove the tank from the grill. When reinstalling a full tank, do everything in reverse of removing it. In addition, once the hose is connected to the tank, open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). Opening it quickly, can cause the grill's regulator to lockup and provide little or no gas to the burners.

Hope this helped you and Happy Grilling. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

My front burner on my

The problem you're having is due to a partially locked grill hose regulator.

To solve this problem, first be sure you have adequate gas in the tank. If that checks out OK, do the following:

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.

2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.

3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).

4. Once the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and set the burner
control knob on HIGH. Does the flame height look correct for being set on HIGH? If so, light
the remaining burners the same way. Do all the burner flames look correct? If so, you solved
the problem. Remember, to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.

If that didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. It runs about $30.00 at any home center or hardware store that sells grills & accessories. If you replace it, turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Happy Grilling!!

I have gas leaking between

Everything may be tight, but the hose appears to be leaking somewhere. The smartest & safest thing to do, is to replace the Hose/Regulator Assembly, which can be purchased from just about any home center or hardware store that sells grills and accessories, for about $30.00.

Once you install the new one, open the gas tank valve Very, Very Slowly (Slow Motion, slow). then check all the fittings with soap and water for leaks. If any are found, tighten the connections. If noe are found Happy Grilling!!

One of three burner tubes is completely yellow,

Te one that is yellow probably has a spider's nest blocking the Venturi Valve on that burner. The Venturi Valve acts as an air intake valve, for mixing the right ratio of air to gas, when the burner is burning.

Remove that burner and you will see the Venturi Valve on the open end of the burner that faces the control panel. It may have 2 slots or on each side of the burner tube, covered by a screen. Brush the screen with and old tooth brush to clear them. Also, check all the burner ports for clogs and clear those with a sewing needle. But, do not enlarge the holes. While you're at it, it would be a good idea to remove and clean all the burners, as required Annual Maintenance.

To assist you in properly removing the burners, I have included a link the the Owner's Manual for your model grill, in case you have misplaced yours. You can download & print the manual for future reference.

Put on new tank and

I don't think you need a new ignitor kit. The problem isn't there. It's the grill's regulator.
However, I do have some concern with the cracks inside the Hose Connect to the tank, being cracked. That should be replaced. You can pickup a new Hose/Regulator Assembly for about $30.00 any hardware store or home improvement center that sell grills and accessories. Take the old one with you for comparison purposes.

After installing the new hose. Open the Gas Valve on the tank VERY. VERY Slowly (Slow motion, slow). Doing it this way will, eliminate the problem you're having now. And always to it this way in the future.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Happy Grilling!! Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Can I use lava rock

No, it will cause uneven heating, flare ups and there is no rack to place the lava rock on. For safeties sake, never try to alter a gas grill to make it what you want it to be. If it didn't come that way from the factory, don't do it.

Hope this helped answer your question. Thnaks for choosing FixYa and Happy Grilling.

I have a Genesis Silver

After 3 or 4 years of being baked on during the hot Summer months, there's no quick fix solution. Speaking of which, contact Weber (800) 332-3973, to find out if they can recommend some type of liquid solution that will soften the plastic film or dissolve it, without damaging the stainless steel.

I know calling Weber may be embarrassing to do. But, look at as a learning experience. Read the assembly manual thoroughly, before putting the grill into service. Then have a good laugh at yourself and enjoy your grill.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Where could a partial blockage occur? With

The blockage is in the regulator. But, it''s easily solved. Assuming you have adequate gas in the tank?

Turn the gas tank valve Off & disconnect the hose. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.
Open the gas tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).
Once the valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn the control knob to HIGH. Has the flame height returned to normal? If so, light each remaining burner the identical same way. Now, do all the flame heights look correct? If so, you solved the problem.

If the above didn't solve the prblem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly, as the regulator is locked up. It runs about $30.00 and can found at any hardware store or home center that sells grills and accessories. Take the old one with you for comparison purposes.

Hope this helped you. Remember to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly. Happy Grilling and thanks for choosing FixYa.
