Try changing the USB cable using the same charger, most of the USB cables that comes in the box has 2 pins only, better to change it to one standard USB. If the charging still not going, try to replace the batt with another, then you'll know if it is the batt or the port. The same happened to me. Just replaced the USB cable and charging went back to normal.

Before buying anything, back up your S3 data using Samsung Kies. Then do a factory reset.. followed by a data restore.. firmware updates can cause problems until the handset is reset, as parts of the previous firmware are still in use.. You should notice an improvement after this... mine went from half a day, to almost 2 days usage, just by doing this after a firmware update.
