If you have already cleaned the vent then the problem is with the Thermal fuse. When the thermal fuse goes bad it cannot be reset and replacing it is recommended repair. It is located on the blower wheel housing inside the rear panel to the exhaust duct. You can test it for continuity before replacing. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Usually, if you are getting brown streaks or marks on clothing, one or both of the drum seals are going bad. Clothing will drag between the bulkhead and the drum, leaving brown marks. If you want to do the repair yourself, I can provide instructions, otherwise call for service.

The reasons can be a fault on the program controller unit but as the door does not close the program also will not move further. This must be the clue to the fault. Remove and check the lock and the settings. manually close the door with force and see if the program cycle starts, if not check the door switch and the control panel. Also check for output when the timer counts down. If not the controller unit must be checked for possible problems.

Press and hold the END OF CYCLE SIGNAL button for 3 seconds.

The dryer wont run is a pretty vague statement.
Please expand your question to include the model #, what was happening before "it wont run", any error codes, and what you have done so far to try and rectify the problem.
Is the panel dead or unresponsive?
Does the pane light up - but the controls are unresponsive?
Have you verified the breaker is not tripped?
Is there power to the outlet?

What else would need to be checked is the door switch to see if it has a circuit when the door is closed,as opposed to just replacing the door switch it should be checked first,if ya dont have one purchase a multimeter that can be used to check the switch.

Multimeters are sold at HomeDepot &Lowe's and lower end models are about $15.00,if ya have a Harbor Freight near ya they are sold for $5.00 their
