No heat in dryer
Most likely, is a broken heating element. 2nd most likely is a thermostat switch that has failed. 3rd most likely is a burnt wire. If you'd care to fix this yourself,You will be needing to find a testing instrument to see what is wrong. That would be like a volt/ohm meter or a multi-tester.First, see if you are getting current to the dryer. Open the back of the dryer and fine the electric hookup. You should be getting 110 volts to each side of the 3 wire hookup. The center screw/nut is a ground. If you have a 4 wire dryer, the extra green wire is also a ground, and should be hooked off to the side.If you have 110 volts to each of the two sides, then you would remove the back of the dryer, to find the wires for the heating element and all the thermostat switches. If you have 110 to only one of the sides, check the plug on the wall or floor, and the circuit breaker in the hall or garage or wherever.Next, you would be removing the plug of the dryer, and check the heating element and the thermostat switches with your resistance setting on the meter.Unplug each of the items you are testing one at a time. One of them will show "no current is getting through".That is you defective part.Be blessed.

Whirlpool YGEW9250PW1 Electric dryer control locked problem
Hello,
I had the same problem, but my husband, who is an engineer, figured out that if you pull out the light bulbs that are not reading the correct volts on his volt meter, the control lock light will shut off and the dryer will start working. If you do not know how to do this, you can always buy a new control panel. I know this sounds to simple to be true, but we have bought several new "brains" (control boards), tried unpluging the dryer for days at a time, had an certified whirpool technician come out (who recommended buying a new control board), and nothing worked.

Dryer won't start
If you look closely, there are 3 separate pins that must latch. One is a simple push-button style which latches no problem. The others are little prongs at the top and bottom of door. The bottom prong latches cleanly, but the top one will not latch because the door is a bit too flexible. Close the door normally, then firmly press on the top edge of the door. You will hear the final latch grab, then you press and hold the start button. The dryer starts normally.

Duet dryer wont start beeps and sensing lights up!
Its likely your thermal fuse is out.Disconnect the power! Remove the lint filter screen. Remove the two screws from the bottom flange of the toe panel. Pull the toe panel out at the bottom, pull down, and remove the panel. Remove the screw from the lint duct bracket and remove the bracket. Remove the two screws from the lint duct and remove the duct. Then you will see the white thermal fuse on your blower wheel housing. You can jump it with an alligator clip or take the wires off the thermal fuse and use electrical tape to tape them together to see if it comes on. DON'T LEAVE IT JUMPED TO RUN A CYCLE, order a new one. Here is a the part.
