Whirlpool Dishwasher

I believe this problem was indeed from using cheap dishwasher powder. After tearing the panels off and checking everything I could think of, I switched to cheap liquid detergent and no more problems. :)

I have a modulogic ADP951.seemed to be stuck on

I am assuming you have not tried the reset by turning mains power off and then on.

One of the reasons for being stuck in the wash cycle is the water temperature is not reaching the right level. This could be due to heater failure or if you are using hot water at the inlet then your inlet water temperature is low.

The start light blinking and the drain cycle starting is linked to the opening of the door during the wash cycle.
Turn the mains power off and on after a short delay and see if that gets rid of the start light flashing and drain motor restarting.

But it is the water temperature that might be the main problem.

Post a comment to let me know what you find.

Over the last several weeks the dishwasher is

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Please make sure that the soap is stored in a dry environment and it is not stale and clumping together. Possibly try a different detergent like a liquid or gel. Also, make sure the dishes are loaded properly, or dishwasher is not overloaded. Please check that the dishwasher is filling properly. The dishwasher will fill with water up to and around the heating element. If water is more below the heating element, then there is a low water pressure or a problem with the fill valve. Try & listen if it sounds like it is spraying the water around with enough pressure. For low water pressure, try to clean the screen at the entrance of the fill valve, sometimes the fill valve can fail and not allow the proper water into the dishwasher and may need to be replaced. And, check the spray arm and pump cover for splits or leaks. Also make sure that the water is draining and is not accumulated in the dishwasher, if it is in dishwasher then check for clogged drain hoses and drain pump. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

How do I change the plastic panel on the door?

You may not have to, go to www.applianceart.com to see many options that go over your current panel. They also have stainelss replacement panels. The only dishwashers that have panels that you can replace are "frame" dishwashers. If you have one of these, there will be two screws on the side of the door that, when unscrewed, release one side of the frame allowing you to slide the panel in and out. If you dishwasher has metal that wraps around the side, you may want to trya vinyl and a stainless steel foil option that wraps over your door around the sides. Also available at applianceart.com

My whilpool diswasher works but is not letting out

90% of the time you have a small obstruction in the drain pump assy. If you are not able to gain access to the underneath of the washer, you will normally see 2 motors. One large and a much smaller one. The smaller one is the drain pump motor. With plug out, undo 3 or 4 screws and remove motor. Clear impellar and reinstall. Most of the time that is all that is necessary.

Water hammer makes a loud vibrating noise when filling

Hey- most hammer is removed by simply replacing the water valve. Have solved this way many times. Exceptions required spring suppressors on lines to faucets. Valves run about 40-60$ and are easy to install. Let me know if this info helps- have more if needed- Thanks- Ed

I have a whirlpool dishwasher that won't start

Hi,
Check there is no water in the tray under the machine.
There will be a switch that turns off everything if there is a possible leak - so may be that. Just blot up any water and try again.
If there is a slight leak - trace it.

Dishwasher causing white residue on dishes

With the heat element caked in the white residue this tells me for sure it is hard water. Pick up some Lemi-Shine and run it through the dishwasher and use it during the cycle per the instructions and you will be very happy with the results.

Foul odor on dishes and in dishwasher after cycle

It is very likely that your dishwasher is growing mold, in this condition. If it is causing your dishes the same issue, it may be wisest to obtain a dishwasher cleanser(Several detergent manufacturers now sell dishwasher cleaning items), which will hopefully kill off any mold colonies growing in your dishwasher's blades, and in your drain cap.
