I have the use&care guide for this unit. It explains how to change the panels - I also notice in ebay that you can order generic stainless ones. I'm going to remove my white panel to install the stainless.

Standing water after the cycle has finished

Since the drain pump will pump the water out using the "cancel/drain" button, your problem is likely to be in the drain hose system or the garbage disposal downstream from the drain pump. Check for kinks in clogs in the drain hose. Grease can build up in the portion of the drain hose just before it attaches to the garbage disposal.

Our top rack is not getting cleaned at all--

Welcome to FixYa,

Based on your description... I`d suspect a plugged or really dirty wash pump. It could ultimately be a worn out wash impeller/chopper assembly, but I'd certainly try my suggestions before considering that.

The place to start for that is to pull the pump filter, spray arm and check for food deposit, broken glass, undissolved detergent and general water deposit built up in the sump well.

The key is to get in there and clean it all out, I`ve attached a link at the bottom that will show you how to go about it, ( This will be applicable to most Whirlpool, Inglis, Kenmore, Kitchen-Aid, Jenn-Air )

When you`re finished run it through a test cycle and see how it goes. You may even want to run it empty with just a bowl of "white vinegar" on the top rack for a dishwasher bath.

Let me know how you make out and what you find.

MODEL duiioixtpq3 ser. # fs0201257 will not run,

The model number is actually "DU1101XTPQ3". If the model number you listed this question under is correct, there is a thermal fuse located inside the control panel of the dishwasher. The part number for the thermal fuse replacement is 8193762.

If you type in your model number you can utilize the exploded view parts diagrams at pcappliancerepair.com, appliancepartspros.com or searspartdirect.com to assist you in locating the part. The fuse is listed as item 6 under the "Control Panel Parts" section.

To replace the fuse, follow these steps:

1. Make sure the dishwasher is unplugged or the breaker is turned off.

2. Open the door and remove only the top screws directly behind the control panel.

3. Remove the protective cover from back of the control panel to expose the main control board.

The thermal fuse should be mounted to the control board. If you remove it and take a resistance check, it should read close to 0 ohms, if good. If bad, replace as necessary. Make sure you follow the installation instructions on the replacement fuse.

The age of the appliance is determined by the SERIAL NUMBER. The following link explains how this is determined on Whirlpool manufactured appliances:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576437-determining_the_age_of_your_whirlpool_ap

The SECOND DIGIT in the serial number determines the YEAR it was manufactured. The first TWO NUMBERS following that digit, represents the WEEK (52 weeks in a year) that it was manufactured. So...if I'm reading your serial number correctly, this dishwasher was manufactured January 2005.

If you have any questions about this repair, or require additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you
