Dishwasher will not turn on,

OK check Fuses/Breaker.
Check there is actually power to the outlet, try another appliance in the actual outlet.
Try this below...
Ok so your dishwasher won't do anything... it justs sits there and "Hums" you can't make it respond to any controls, and the ONLY way to Stop it. is to unplug the unit, replugging back in it simply "Hums" again and will do nothing.
Now this happens because, the STOP Button, is pressed and the "Door Opened", during the Wash Cycle. This should NOT be done. You should NEVER TURN IT OFF MID-CYCLE. you should instead, Simply, pull on the handle, to Open the door, the system will take care of everything, after, you close it,and pick up where it left off. The turning OFF, makes the machine "Think" that a New Cycle, is going to be done, before the old one is finished, and resets itself to do it all again. But it still has water, that's not meant to be there so it must dump it out.
Now, the FIX. Take the Dishwasher, out, and tip over on it's side, tip to about a 45' angle. Water will come out from underneath, this is from a small "Overflow" reservoir. this reservoir has an "Anti-Flood" switch. The removing of this water will "Reset" this Switch, and allow the dishwasher to work again.
So what happens, is this, when the STOP button is pressed Mid-Cycle, the machine must "Dump" whatever water is still in the machine, into the "Overflow Reservoir". This water then causes the Anti-flood switch to jam, and this stops the machine, until it is reset,by the above method,

If none of the above work etc, then my advise is to get a serviceman to call. Contact a Whirlpool agent, and when they call, ask for a "quote" before allowing any repair work to be undertaken.

Start button wont respond

If all the other buttons work except the start button, you have a faulty touch pad that will need to be replaced. Below is a link to a video you will want to download so you can see how to replace the touch pad.

Water will not drain completly.

Usually there must be a filter screen in the dishwasher which can cause this to happen. It goes to the drain . If there is accumulation of food particles in the dishwasher filter screen then draining may be obstructed which can cause the water to be stranded at the bottom.

Usually the filter is located at the back of the dishwasher near the drain. It is usually held in position by means of clips. You can just pop it out.Pour some hot water in the drain and clean the drain line also.

If after cleaning this filter also you are facing the problem of water not draining then the drain pump must have gone bad.

I have a whirlpool sixth sense dishwasher and

F3 error fault codeThe heating cycle is not working. The error is indicated after several electronic checks are done over a 25 minute period. Therefore if the heater heats too slowly or the heater is open circuit or indeed the electronic control PCB is defective, each of these will indicate F3. The twist is, if the NTC is fluctuating in its reading it also can indicate F3 and not F1.

Dishwasher is not draining

Hi Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

My Whirlpool DU1145XTP won't turn on. Clean light

Check the themistor in the control panel. Radio Shack sells these for about $1.30 each. I replaced the one in my dishwasher three years ago and have had no issues since.

The clean button keeps blinking off and on and

Hi If clean light is blinking 7 times then it may be an issue with heater circuit, door switch or wash pump. If yes then please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry or Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry, Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry. Now let the unit run for 2-3 minutes and then you press the Cancel/Drain button and allow it to completely drain and reset. If this doesn't work then it's an issue with the wash pump not pumping the water past the heater efficiently or due to lack of water to heat. Please make sure that heater is not open circuited and is heating the water efficiently. You'll have to check the heater using a multimeter; the meter should read between 3000 to 3300 ohms (Use multimeter on Rx1 ohm setting). If heater is fine then make sure water pressure is optimum and fill valve is working fine. Hope this helps... Please post back for further assistance.

Lock light is on will not go off. nothing will

Hold the Air Dry button until the light goes off. or Press and hold the "Heated Dry" button for approximately 4 seconds. The control lock indicator light under the padlock symbol will turn off when the controls are unlocked. But if that is not helping then its faulty control panel. It has to be replaced.Unplug the unit from power outlet for 10 minutes then reconnect and check,if lock light turns off.----------------- Thank you.

The water is not pumping up for spray.....simply

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly. (FYI there are 36 versions of this dishwasher.. the last digits on the model number are important when ordering parts.)
Dishes not getting clean is caused by either a restricted drain, (usually the problem) or larger than usual particulate under the lower wash arm tower.
The restricted drain can manifest itself:
- At the drain pump outlet, (remove hose and inspect drain port)
- At the air gap at the sink (remove cover by lifting straight up then unscrew the inner cap nut and remove the particulate) NOTE the installed position of the upper cap under the nut as it will only go back together in one position)
- At the Air Gap outlet hose connection (remove hose and inspect plastic tubing)
- At the sink connection. This can be either a direct plumbing connection or a garbage disposal connection. (remove the hose and inspect drain connection.)

As far as the lower wash arm tower
- Remove the lower wash arm.... NOTE the stack up of parts... it only goes together one way!!!!
See this link http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5149295&diagram_id=28203146#d28203146 - Check item 4 above link for debris. - Ensure the o-ring item 3 of above link is in place.
- Remove the lower wash arm
- Clean the screen / fingered drain areas.
- Remove the accumulator cover and check in the pump impeller area for a broken impeller or damaged pump housing.
Your parts can be found here:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5149295&diagram_id=28189218#d28189218

One more item to check is the Drain Pump (Item 17 of the above link) It should br running when in a drain cycle. If it is not running remove it and check for debris in the impeller and pump inlet. Also make sure the pump outlet is NOT clogged. Once your sure it is free of debris check winding resistance and then check input power to the motor in a drain cycle. Remember that your first checking winding resistance and then input POWER. (Meter switch position change required)

Thanks for choosing FixYa
