This the problem related with LCD. Horizontal and vertical line occur, the cause of LCD data strip disconnected. If you are able to open the LCD bezel and back cover then look display data strip that is connect with LCD. if you need more then hit me mail,I'll be online on fixya.

find the bios battery and remove it for al least an hour, make sure the laptop battery is removed and AC power is unplugged

Check with your local Goodwill store. they might have set the password from their store. If not, then since the system is new, you can just reset it back to factory image.

Restart your computer and when you see the Dell logo, keep tapping F8. Select "Repair Your Computer". It will give you options how to recover your system to factory image. Otherwise, if you're required to type the password since you don't knows it, you might end up re-installing the Operating system.

Just be patient, you may have chosen the low-level format (the slower one), and depending on the size of your hard drive, it could take anywhere from 45 minutes to a few hours just for the formatting step.

The monitor must be replaced.

Download everesthome
Install and run the program.
click on motherboard tab on left
click on chipset
click on southbridge in right column
the southbridge is the id of the audio chip set
the audio controller will be listed
google the chipset driver or audio controller driver.

Unplug from wall, make sure to turn off, take battery out. Try to turn on again, to clear left over power. Then try removing the memory and hard drive.

Leave battery and all peripherals off. Plug in and see what happens.

It may also be that you have a bad power adapter and your battery has no charge. Or just a tiny bit.

Hello, The keyboard is connected to the mainboard via a ribbon like connector. A keyboard is actually a matrix of contacts that are linked togheter via some 5-6 lines. If one of this lines fails (broken contact, a connector that got loose) an entire area of keys will stop to work. You may recognise connector problems of such type by looking carefully at the keys that don't work. You may find that the non working keys form lines from the top to the bottom. For example if you find that the "q" key isn't working, then the "a" and "z" and "alt" may not work as well. For "w" key, the coresponding line is "S" "x" "\" and so on. In order to fix this problem you need to dissasemble the laptop and check the connection between the keyboard and the motherboard. If you have some tools (small screwdrivers mostly) and some basic knoledge about dissasembling electronic things I will assist you through the process. Please reply back if you are willing to try to fix the laptop on your own and I will guide you through the process. Otherwise, a service center may be able to dissasemble the laptop and check that connector or the keyboard for a small fee. (vast) (just 2 steps in fact) but the boot drive , change out is far far far more complex. and you never not told that. you want to mess with the C: drive? now let me guess the real goal (sad I must) the OS drive windows is failing ( common) and some lil' bird told you it needs a new boot drive, and then fail to say so here. okay I will bite. 1: buy a new SSD (hdd fail and are slow) 2: buy a new OS, from MS. or get free w10. (ask how) 3: then put in new SSD, 4: run the w10 installer media (it is free) 5: load w10 to the SSD fresh 6: answer the silly 30 questions it asks. 7: and click activate. (buy it) ..

push the physical cd drive try button marked EJECT the PC must be running, or use the paper clip hole trick. (if PC is dead or tray jammed) google that. clip trick the dell manuals covers this

ask at Microsoft.com forum , there? or learn that if PC had this new, it is in fact crippleware. and will nag you until you buy it or do the rent things, 360 jive. best is buy it and set it up like you went. even 2007 runs here on w10. office. the PCs most on earth new, come with free but fully crippleware. as do vast other bloatware loaded on new PC. I erase all that junk and set up my own things paid and licensed.
