I have verticle colorfull lines
Hello,
All plasma an Lcd ts have boards that control vertical and horizontal output to their respective areas. They are connected to the screen by ribbon cables. If one of these boards fails all together, has a failed chip, a bad connection, or a bad ground somewhere it will result in a black line in the area of that board. A bad ribbon cable connection on the bottom will result in a vertical black bar though the screen. Many times reseating the connection will fix it, if the ribbon cable has been nicked there could be a severed connection. They an sometimes be fixed, but it is a pain. An yes I have done it, but the bar is gone. The same will happen if the chip that outputs to that area opens. The connectors are the first place to look paying close attention to the cable, they are extremely delicate so great care must be taken if you decide to tinker with em, the usually have lift locks that release them, but it is very easy to wreck em.
Good luck.
My tv is fine. super
I would check a lvds cable, the cable between the lcd panel and signal board. Take it off, clean and put it back. There could be just bad connection.

Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems that the inverter board is fine so it is either the T-con board in the unit has gone bad and/or it is not getting the required 12vdc from the power supply unit. If you have knowledge of internal circuitry of the unit then you can open the back of the unit and check the T-con board which is the last board before the LCD panel. Usually it is available with the LCD Panel. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise & know how to solder/re-solder components as these units contain high voltages even when in off position. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
Thanks
Rylee
How do you replace the
You cannot really replace the CCFL in the LCD TV, if you have black screen, more likely to have problem in the power supply or in the backlight inverter board.
First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board.
if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there are some troubleshoot you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools, electronics knowledge, and know safety precaution then please read on:

It is fixable, but at a huge cost. A new panel can cost more than the TV. You might be able to find one with a good panel used on Ebay though.
