Akai LCT2701AD Television Questions & Answers
Cannot get the DVD to eject or play
These are known to fail. You can replace just those players in that tv though! That is the good news! Look for your Model number and key word "dvd" on ebay. You can find just the dvd player itself and swap for a new one! The old one has a dead motor and you will need to disassemble it to get the disc out!
Let me know if you need anything else :)
Early 2000's AKAI ATV 140 (Tv / Video Combo)
I recently bought a used LCT2060 that had no remote. I figured my
comcast cable remote would work without a problem but it didn't. So 3
universal remotes later I found my solution...a
radio shack
universal gamer remote. It controls up to 5 components plus your
xbox360, playstation and pc. The price on sale was a mere 12.97, not bad
if you ask me. Hope this helped. The code that worked for the
Akai
was 11676. Take care...
When watching television my tv switches from mono
Hello,
All plasma an lcd TV have boards that control vertical and horizontal output to their respective areas. They are connected to the screen by ribbon cables. If one of these boards fails all together, has a failed chip, a bad connection, or a bad ground somewhere it will result in a black line in the area of that board. A bad ribbon cable connection on the bottom will result in a vertical black bar though the screen. Many times reseating the connection will fix it, if the ribbon cable has been nicked there could be a severed connection. They an sometimes be fixed, but it is a pain. An yes I have done it, but the bar is gone. The same will happen if the chip that outputs to that area opens. The connectors are the first place to look paying close attention to the cable, they are extremely delicate so great care must be taken if you decide to tinker with em, the usually have lift locks that release them, but it is very easy to wreck em.
Good luck.
Tv is not turrning on manually or by factory
power supply capacitor array on the power output side have become bulged and are starting to leak. This is one cause for the power supply to be unstable and unable to provide appropriate power to the LCD
My tv was working fine but after turning it off
IT SOUNDS AS IF SOME COMPONENTS IN YOUR TV HAVE GONE BAD OR ARE OUT OF TOLERENCE. IF YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH ELECTRONICS THEN I WOULD OHM OUT ALL OF YOUR TRANSISTORS MOST LIKELY YOUR H.O.T. (HORIZONTIAL OUTPUT TRANSISTOR) ALSO CHECK ALL OF YOUR CAPACTIORS ( BUT BE CAREFULL ON HOW YOU TOUCH THEM, IF YOU TOUCH THEM INCORRECTLY YOU WILL END UP IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM) IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE LET ME KNOW. IF THIS HELPS CAN YOU PLEASE RATE MY RESPONSE?
This T.V. won't even turn on now. It started this
Sounds like a faulty power supply. Depending on the model, size, etc. it may be easier to ship it somewhere or bring it to a store. For the most part, they run anywhere from $150 - $350 plus installation.
If you are pretty good with electronics, comment back with the model # and brand of your TV set, and I will look up for you a place to purchase one. However, I wouldn't reccomend purchasing and installing one yourself unless you are sure that you can handle it.
Model #lct2701ad does not come on
Like tvrepairbiz says...there are 3 capacitators on the center of the powerboard rated at 24/1000. Change all 3 to 32/1000. Worked for me and only cost $5 Canadian. Now if I can only remove those vertical, black wavy lines on the screen, lol.
RCA Colortrak 2000 remote control
I called RCA's 800 number on the back of the owner manual--got a response that said to replace the unit since only the up-down channel changer buttons were not working. Using another remote (universal) now--cost only $5.

A very common problem with that unit is the power supply. You could probably open the rear case yourself and locate the power supply module. Look for the electrolytic caps EC18, 19, 20 all are 1000uf/16v Then EC9, 10 which is 1000uf/35v and EC14, 25 both 470uf/35v Replace these and you should resolve the problem. If you have some basic soldering experience and be patient it's not a difficult repair. Just make sure that you get the new cap placed in the same manner, they are polorized, having a positive and negative side.
You'll need some solder, desoldering braid and a GOOD soldering station or stick. Most of this, including the caps you can get at ACME sales in Florida.
Good Luck!

Akai lcd Television
Sounds like the inverter board. That is the board that powers the screen. When you take the back off, it is the one with several little transformers on it. Also, it usually has a metal cover over it. Get the part number off of it and search online for the best price, or if that seems like too much work, take it to a shop where they do the factory service. Not an independent, local servicecenter. Trust me on this one. Good luck, Russmann.
Humm coming from speakers - can't get cable to work
The RF input is the correct one for a cable signal. The other sources use the RCA and other ports which you can connect to other devices, like DVD or VCR players.
If the humm noise only happens when you're on the TV channel then it's likely just the station. Try changing the channel and see if that helps, and make sure the coax is screwed in all the way. Also make sure the other end, if connected to a VCR or other stuff, is tightly attached. If you share cable with many other people and the signal has snow (white spots on the TV), then you may need to buy an RF signal amplifier to reduce the noise.
Source changes the input (RCA versus coaxial versus component inputs), change the channel for different channels..
