could be capacitors, are leaky and need resoldering on board, have a quotation with qualified service tech and compare the new price,..but repairing should be cheaper,....

Replace all caps on main board and preferably the others too and you'll have a nice set again. The set is an excellent design just the capacitors used are not of the highest quality.

Thanks for using FixYa. As your TV supports computer connectivity, connect it with a computer and try to resize it's screen area using the options over there. After resizing try connecting it with a dvd player and check the screen area. After testing it with a dvd player, check it with the cable box.

Eooow! Tough one. One of the main reasons why DLP Pictures are "weak" is not due to lamps or main board settings for the screen. The "weak" picture is due to the dirty (and I mean dirty!) mirrors BEHIND and BELOW the main screen, and possibly due to weak or dirty lamps and associated mirrors/lenses. Remove the "Front Screen" completely (not just the outer lens assembly) and check for internal dirt on associated mirrors inside the screen area. Disconnect any cables to the screen controls first (if any).

Optic engine. No doubt. Those encroaching lines are just going to get bigger and more annoying with every day.

Check with Sony to see if your set still falls under the natural or extended manufacturer's warrantly. Most optic blocks are warrantied for 2 years (3 years or more on some models).

Post your model # and we can tell you if it is covered by the manufacturer.

HDTV ready means that your TV is capable of displaying a high definition picture. A standard television broadcast is shown in 480i. High definition starts at 720i. Only an HD ready TV is capable of showing a picture that is 720 or above. So, if a person wants to upgrade to high definition offered by their satellite or cable company, or they want to enjoy a new Blue Ray disk player, they have to have a TV that is HD ready.

its the problem of inverter board in the tv.i will explain.in your lcd tv there is a board called inverter board which controls the backlight and picture in tv.as this inverter board is not got faulty but its weak at present.you can say it is at end of its life.because slowly --- slowly the picture will take more time then 30 minutes to appear and in the last stage when inverter board will go completely faulty at time no piocture will appear. to resolve this issue you will have to get your inverter board replaced The board costs $75 at shopjimmy.com and it is on-stock. Part no. is 10225010022. To replace it yourself, it depends on your skills. It a 37 inch and quite big. If not handle carefully you might end up with broken or scratched screen.

I had that problem, I sent it to repair, because it was on warranty, they told me that they had to flash its BIOS again, so, that is a software problem. That was in my case, I hope can help you. Sorry for my english.

Peel off the black tape?
Is this still covered by warranty?
If one expects help here then one should quit being lazy.
Brand names, model numbers, age, has it had anything spilled in it lately, been moved, and any and ALL other details you can provide!  

But, a possible cause is power supply circuitry, possibly electrolytic capacitors. Remove covers, unsolder, and replace.
Or call a tech.

im having the same problem hvnt figured it out yet, but when you put the screen on warm instead of standard or cold it helped mine,went from blue to not as bad pink .

I have the same problem, in addition, mine is now going dark, can't increase the brightness any more. Where can we get service in Canada???

It is the software or the program that have the TV to operate properly.  Sorry for my english.

This problem can be solved flashing the firmware again, but you need a cable interface between a rs232 port and a VGA D-SUB 15, I have the firmwares for American, Australian, European and Pal models, and the software used to flash it, but I haven¡t the interface cable and I don't know how to build it...Maybe somebody can help with this...

Maybe is not your remote control, this model have a firmware bug that cause this kind of problems, that happened to my tv when it has only 2 weeks, I need to return it to the store, and then 2 years latter happened again. So, try to contact with acer services center.

I systematically tried hundreds of codes and by chance this method worked for me...hope it works for you too! Press TV then hold select and red til LED flashes twice. Enter 3 digit code 253 then press select again. Good luck! Sara

the tv is going in shutdown mode, is going to be power supply problem. check if your tv is under warranty because you will need a tv tech,
