CANT GET RID OF 'UNABLE TO CLEAN MESSAGE'

Unplug the printer from power cord.Press and hold the "menu" button, then plug the device. You'll see on the LCD screen a "machine error" code.If this code is 40,41 or 4F the print head is defective. If the
error is 50 or 51 there is error in Purge unit and printer require service. If the error is 46 the waste ink tank is full.Follow this:
1. Pres 'menu', 'mono start' then'menu' one by one...
2. Press the arrow up or down to go to'maintenance 80'.
3. Press 'mono start' several times to go to'Purge'. Finding the PURGE will show some numeric value
which is Iassume the number of times the printer had cleaned.
4. Press'arrow up' key and scroll for number "2" then press "set".Do the same for numbers 7, 8 and 3.
After you have entered thiscombination, the purge numeric value will be reseted to 00000.

Unable to init error message

Seems like a driver error. Try to uninstall it and then download a new version of the Brother driver to install.

Unable to clean and routine maintainace

If you look at the Brother website you will find a trouble shooting guide for your machine.

In the guide, for the error you quote Brothers guidance is to check for a stuck piece paper, however it also states that if the printhead is hard over to one side (righthand side if memory serves me correct), then to contact Brother. If you do so, Brother will tell you it needs to be serviced by a Brother agent, which will likely cost you more than a new one !

If it isnt a stuck piece of paper, the problem is due to the fact that Brother machines excessively self-clean. Each time they self-clean a small amount of ink is dumped in to a holding tank/sponge. When a predefined number of self-clean operations have been performed, the machine refuses to print and gives the error message you have stated. Brother state that the tank/sponge must be replaced before the counter is reset, again by a Brother agent.

However, there is a way of reseting the self-clean counter yourself - if you Google your model number and the error code somewhere in the results you'll find how to do it. The only risk of doing this without changing the tank/sponge is that it will eventually overflow and leak out the bottom, but I did my Brother all in one some time ago and have had no problems yet.

MY BROTHER DCP 120C PRINTER WONT PRINT BLACK

If the printer is new, it could be defective.
Take the printer back to where you bought it,
and get them to either demonstrate that it does work,
or for them to repair/replace it.

Suspected clogged blue ink tube

most of the time, the print head need to be replaced for your case... but there are cases whereby it's the ink cart that causes the ink clogged.. you can try replacing the cyan ink and do another round of cleaning.. but chances are slim...

How do i align my printer, it's printing blurry

Setting the Alignment:
  1. Press the Ink or Ink Management key on the control panel.

  2. Press the up or down navigation key to select TEST PRINT and press Menu/Set or Set.

  3. Press the up or down navigation key to select ALIGNMENT and press Menu/Set or Set.

  4. Press Black (Mono) Start or Color (Colour) Start. The machine begins printing the Alignment Check Sheet.

  5. By reviewing this Test Sheet, you can determine if the alignment needs adjustment.

  6. Examine the 600 DPI and 1200 DPI test prints on the Alignment Check Sheet. If the number 5 sample of both the 600 DPI and 1200 DPI most closely matches the 0 sample, press 1 (YES).
If one of the other samples is a better match for the 0 sample, press 2 (NO). The display will then prompt you to select the sample that most closely matches the 0 sample for 600 DPI and then 1200 DPI.

  7. Press Stop/Exit.

How do I connect to my p.c. ? It doesn't seem to

You should have a power supply,
Sounds like you do since it works fine as a copier.
The other cord you need is a USB to hook to the computer.

Your computer uses the flat rectangular USB
The other end can be one of three types.
Look on the back side, most usb printers use a small rectangular USB about a 1/4" x 1/4" if so Staples sell them, explain the outlet and they will hand you the 20.00 cable
If I am not correct on the location, just walk the whole unit down to your local Staples, they no where to look.

I lost my cd to install my printer what do i do

The Brother website should have driver downloads available by model of printer. Look for Customer Support or downloads. Put in your model when asked and download the driver to your PC.

I hope that this helped and gets you on the right track to solving your problem
