Emerson EWF2004 20" TV - Page 9 Questions & Answers
When I turn on my tv all it do is make a boing
The boing sound is caused by the relay cutting in to allow power to the boards. However if you have no sound or display then one of the boards or components has failed. This will not be a DIY as it will require the diaqnosis of the true fault, that is.. whether the fault is on the power board or elsewhere in the circuit. Your only reliable and cheapest option is to submit it for repair. Average cost of parts at a guess about $100 + labour so lets say a ball park figure of $300. If it comes out less then you are still a winner.

Will this tv need a digital converter box if we
If you are refering to signal you receceive on an antenna, then yes. It's actually called a Digital Tuner. The standard analog tuners that are in most older TV's will work for the Analog signals that you will probibally still be receiving, the Digital signals will not be available to you. This will depend on if stations in your area are at transmitting in Digital or analog or both. These boxes are the devices the government was either giving away, or making availalbe for a low cost to those whom need it via cupons. This has ended, but you can check
this gov site out that talks in detail about it. You can buy the Digital Tuner boxes for pretty cheap from what I havce seen, but you will probibally need an antenna also.
I can only get 27 channels
It sounds like adefective tuner in the TV. To confirm try hooking up a vcr to channel 3 and seeing if you get all the channels with it (the VCR)
Tv wont stay on
well this sounds like you have your tv on sleep settings check your remote and check your settings if a tv does this usually that means that the sleep setttings are on if you have a warranty on your tv then return it to the store and they will gladly give you a new one
Need an Input to hook up Dish network/xbox 360
Sometimes its tricky with those buttons on the front but with most tv's you can get to the menu and change inputs.
One you figure that out you will want to go back in and add that input as a channel in the add/remove channel section then you will be able to get to that input by just changing the channel down below 2
( another way to do this would be to run the auto program with the devices on and see if it adds them that way)
I need to find a manuil on this manuil for emerson
Dear arlenejune1,
Below is the link to the official manual for Emerson EWF2004 20".
http://www.emersonaudiovideo.com/pdf/om/EWF2004.pdf
It actually seems that Emerson EWF2004 23" does not exist. If you do have this model, try working with this manual and if that does not work, I cannot do much else for you.
I hope that helps,

Buzzing from inside when off.
hi!if your t.v is always on stand by power mode and there is a buzzing sound the problem is in power supply section, you need to check for weak capacitors.
I can't go past channel 69 and I need to go up to
how old it the t.v. - most t.v.s are at least 181 channel compatible..hodge-podge words..in lay terms you have to have the capability on the t.v. to support X nbr of channels...also check to see if you have the menu set at cable or air...setting needs to be on cable
Sometimes you can not turn it on or change
Seems weird, it's either the remote is going dodgy and the wires are dislocated and sometimes when you move the remote the wires connect again, I'd recommend getting a replacement.
How do I hook this up to a new Yamaha receiver?
As for the audio signal from the TV, you will need to add an rca type audio patch cord that goes from the audio output (usually red/white) on the back of the TV, to an auxiliary input on the receiver. Then simply switch the selector on the receiver over to the aux setting when you want to listen to TV through the speakers. (If there is no aux, you can use a tape input instead, and switch to that.)
Best wishes
... Ok the svideo cable
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Unfortunately, all the plugs/connectors of the Emerson EWF2004 are designated as INPUTs. Since the cable feed used the ANT. IN, the sound component of the cable TV signal is limited inside the TV. There is no AUDIO OUTPUT in the TV that could be used to feed back into the Yamaha RX-V365.
Please note that both the DVD and the CD are connected from their OUTPUTs to a designated INPUTs on the Yamaha hence their sound could be heard on the Yamaha's speakers. There is no such available connection from the TV back to the RX-V365 and therefore, the cable TV's sound could not be heard on the Yamaha's speakers. The only connection possible is from the MONITOR OUT of the Yamaha to the front yellow VIDEO of the Emerson. With this yellow to yellow cable connected, to watch DVDs, the INPUT SELECT button of the Emerson's remote must be pressed a couple of times to cycle through the choices of TV, VIDEO1 & VIDEO2.
A possibility to consider (if available) is to ask the cable provider to install a cable decoder box. Often, these boxes takes in the cable feed and outputs it as Audio and Video components similar to the connections of the DVD player which then will be an accepable input to the Yamaha. Should this be possible, then the cable TV sound would be heard on the Yamaha's speakers.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.
