You can call Viking and they will know for sure.I would think,as it is of comercial quality,that there may be a wire or more on the back.Most likely to connect to an ANSUL system,a type of fire suppression.It could also be for a vent hood or some attachment like a rotisserie.You can call them at 1-888-VIKING1 (1-888-845-4641).

One thing that you can check is make sure that you have 220 volts at the plug. Leave the unit unplugged and check continuity on the burners. You should have continuity on the burners.

no, its 110V if you are thinking of buying the one you listed...its gas and a great range, its just out of my league with the price they ask for them.

I have a product that I use to clean my burners and griddle with, it is made by ECOLAB and is called Greasecutter Plus. It doesn't hurt the range but it makes it look brand new, even my griddle comes completely clean. You just spray it on then let it sit for a bit then it wipes clean.

3 to 4 hours is a long time. Get to the fans (behind the control panel) and check the screens for dust. Chances are the screens are clogged with dust and need to be cleaned so the fans can move air for cooling better. I had this problem on my GE JTP14, and after cleaning just one fan it can keep up with cooling the electronic area while the oven is running. It runs much less often.

they may recommend but you are still bound by the building code in your locality. what distance does your building code require. you may be able to alter your setup to meet the code.

un plug it ( the range) and uses matches
its alot cheaper and much less the headache

It sounds like the Thermostat is defective.

Element can be removed from the front of the unit, it does not need to be pulled

You will need a neutral, ground and 2 wires carrying 120V each

Check the amperage draw to the igniter, if it is over 3amps and no gas, first off check the valve on the manifold behind then control panel if the valve is open then check the wiring to the thermal valve if it is connected then it would appear that the thermal valve is defective.

The Viking manual says that an ignitor that continues to try to light even after the burner has been lit indicates improper grounding, and that an electrician should be consulted.

Perhaps you could try to replace the ignitor, and see if that fixes the problem?
