Problem with F21 code on whirlpool duet sport
i had the same problem. take the bottom cover off of the front of the washer. on the right you will see a round white screw off cover, it is very tight, it unscrews counter clock-wise. pull this out and see if there is any debris in it. if you look into the hole on the right side there is a hole about 1 inch round, this is the pump opening. you may have to take the gray drain hose off of the back of the pump housing and feel if anything is stuck in there, in my case there was a penny stuck side ways blocking the flow of water. after i took it out the washer has been running great again. this is obviously a design flaw, that something that large could manage to get that far, lucky for me it didn't damage the pump impeller. hope this helps. this should take care of the SD and the F21 error codes.

This advise is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet front loader washers and dryers with a Control Lock problem.
This may or may not be an indication of a serious problem. In the majority of the cases, this is a simple operator error. Nearly all these model appliances have some sort of Control Lock feature on the front panel now. This is a designed safety feature that is used to prevent small children from manipulating the controls. The controls can be easily locked or unlocked by pressing and holding the following button on the front panel:
Whirlpool Duet Washer - Press and hold the END OF CYCLE SIGNAL button for 3 seconds.
Whirlpool Duet Dryer - Press and hold the END OF CYCLE SIGNAL button for 3 seconds.
Kenmore Elite Washer - Press and hold the DRAIN/SPIN button for 3 seconds.
Kenmore Elite Dryer - Press and hold the AUTO DRY LEVEL button for 3 seconds.
These instructions may not be all inclusive for all Kenmore and Whirlpool models, but they are the most common. Chances are, if you have a Control Lock feature, the instructions will be printed on the front panel adjacent to the button that is required to lock or unlock the controls.
NOTE: These instructions may also work for newer model Maytag, Hotpoint, Admiral and Fridgidaire model front loaders as well. Refer to your owner's manual or front panel for instructions pertaining to your sepcific model.
If the Control Lock feature will not lock or unlock the appliance, unplugging the unit for AT LEAST 30 minutes is recommended in order to reset the main control board. In many cases this is all that is required to correct momentary glitches.

Control locked light is on
The Control Lock is a safety feature that allows the consumer to lock the control panel to prevent small children from manipulating the controls. It can inadvertently be set following a power outage, or by leaning against the control panel. The following link explains how to turn the feature on/off:

Whirlepool duet front load washer error codes F01 and E02
Whirlpool Duet Washer model number WFW94HEW2
My wife put a bunch of wet towels in the washer after this we got Codes F01 E02. I freaked out.
Under the top(roof) panel of machine there is was a service technicians manual that explain how to enter Service Diagnostic mode and explained fault/error codes and their possible causes. This isnt for the faint among us. But if you can solder and work with electronics you can diagnose the problem. The technician manual tells you check this, then this and if that doesn't work/ or does work go to 'C', then go to 'D' etc. Either way I ended up diagnosing that it was my MCU (motor control Unit), you did have to use my multi-meter, for ohms and resistance, but it wasn't rocket science. Upon close observation there was a burnt connection solder point on the board. I looked up the part online and ordered, wasn't cheap. $225.00. But just to come diagnose the machine Whirlpool was going to charge $100.00 + parts and whatever else. The moral of the story is if you can tinker and be careful you can totally do this.
