How to remove the top part of the agitator of a roper model ras8445kq0
Often agitator tops do spin somewhat freely, for safety reasons. Most of the work gets done at the bottom, anyway. Unless your clothes are getting tied in knots, I wouldn't worry about it.
But if you want to look, they're usually not that hard to remove. I can't picture yours off the top of my head, but look for a cap/cover/cup on top that can be removed by hand, and there might be a bolt underneath that. There's usually a lot of friction in addition to the bolt holding it in place, so you might use an old towel slipped under the agitator and cinched to give you more leverage/grip.
Good luck.

How to uncouple drain hose from top load washer
If your washer's model number is LSQ9549L, grab a pair of vice grips, go behind the machine, squeeze the clamp which holds the drain hose attached to the water pump exit port, and pull the hose off.
You might want to put a towel on the floor before you pull the drain hose off

How do you replace motor
First unplug the washer I'll give you the easiest way. Lay the washer on its back. Remove the wire harness, remove the water pump by using a pliers or fingers push and pull the clips off .You will need a 1/4" socket to remove the two screws on the motor. Now you are ready to pull and those clips out of the way. The motor is now freed.

Washer only fills in the rinse cycle
This is a common problem with a double water input hot and cold. Theres 2 valves on the back that let the water in, the rinse works as it lets cold water in, this means your other valve is not working, the `hum` you can hear is valve trying to open as it is an electric coil actuator. Its an easy fix and the valves are quite cheap, theres normally only 2 wires, make a note of where they go, they are colour coded.
