Upper oven bake coil stays on.

Stove will not turn offCHECK

Temperature Control Thermostat

If the oven won't turn off the oven thermostat is often the cause of the problem. The electrical contacts inside the oven thermostat can weld themselves together and then the oven won't turn off. If this happens, turn off power to the entire appliance at the household circuit breaker or fuse. The oven thermostat usually cannot be tested and must be replaced if defective.

Oven Control Board

The oven control board has a set of relays that turn on and off power to the bake and broil circuits according to the customer settings and sensor input. If the oven won't turn off it could be that one of the relays on the oven control board is shorted closed, providing voltage to the heating circuit. It can be dangerous if the oven won't turn off. Don't leave the oven unattended without turning off power to the oven. Relay board: Some ovens are equipped with a relay board. This circuit board has several relays which control the switching of electrical current to the oven heat source. If the oven won't turn off it may be that one or more of the relays on the relay board have failed. If this happens replace the relay board. The relays on the board are not sold separately.ALSO CHECK THE BAKE AND BROIL ELEMENT. : I offer free advice bcuz God is so good! oven temperature-switch kit-01_20-undefined-undefined-0_0.jpg oven temp control thermostat-undefined-undefined-2.jpg relay board gas relat board-undefined-undefined-5.jpg gas-control-valve--undefined-undefined-9.jpg

CAN NOT CONTROL BOTTOM OVEN

I assume yiu had the electronic oven control repaired. Sometimes the touch pad also goes bad. I have had to replace them at the same time. If the oven indicator lights showing the oven being on shows up on the display it could be that the thermal fuse behind the oven has gone out. this in in the common line and will shut down both ovens at the same time but you will get the control panel to respond to the touch pad.

When i put it on

HI. This code alert is a strong indication of door switch mechanism failure. The device is not responding to the lock/unlock command. Check to see if the door switch is completely closed. Check latch, solenoid, and actuation switch for electrical or mechanical malfunction.

You will need to obtain a ohm meter for this test. Follow the procedure below to assist with the testing phase. replace the door switch if it fails the electrical test.

Before repairs or further testing can begin you must disconnect the electricity at the fuse panel, at the circuit breaker panel, or by pulling the plug. Make sure the power is off before proceeding. After gaining access to the door latch switch, Set the latch to the "clean" position and test for circuit continuity at the terminals of the switch with your VOM's ohmmeter function. If there is no continuity, the switch is faulty. Use caution when testing.

  • Additionally, check the wires for a tight fit at the door switch, and to the control board. In some cases, the code will appear if the wires have become separated, or slightly worn.

Whirlpool Double oven control panel

A lot of people seem to have ran into this problem. I had no luck finding a solution to this problem anywhere on the internet. I finally fixed this problem by replacing the control board. Wanted to put this info out here for others. The part swaps out fairly easy for all of you considering the fix yourself. Sears direct had the cheapest price.

What is the life span for a 13 year old Whirlpool stove? I got it in 2012. It is an apartment stove.

Never ever use the Self Cleaning Feature. Its main function of to break things like elements, door looks and frazzle control boards. That keeps the maker is steady sales of spares. My old Ge Stove is from the mid 1970s. Of course they don't make them like that any more. They are non-electronic, so only elements can fail. You can check elements for continuity with a multimeter and replace them. If you fancy a new one, get one but never use the self cleaning feature and it will indeed last you 30 years. I have an older Roper by Whirlpool self cleaning oven. It does not have a door lock or timer. Do I just close the door and turn the oven to clean and it will indicate when the cycle is done?

Never ever use the features of a Self Cleaning Oven. We see the damage they do here on Fixya, and the worst is the door not unlocking, and the most expensive is when they fry the mainboard. They all have a door interlock. If you were to open it when it was running, it would frizz your eyebrows!
