Dehumidifier automatic on and off function not working

Unless you live in a dry environment or place the unit in a hermetically sealed room, it probably will not turn off. As the air dries within the room, more moisture comes in with the air. As long as the air outside of the room is more humid than the room this will be true.

How can I get it to empty out the extenal drain?

might your hose or drain fitting be clogged , if so it's a very common cause of no drain, i use a wet/dry vac backwards (blowing out) to gently push whatever it is out of the hose and fitings , wet /dry vacs have a gentle air flow not sharp/rough like compressed air !!! to make a messs on your floor

Keeps beeping but won't start

I can't take credit for the solution to the fan problem, but I can attest to its merit. It turned out to be my problem too. The fan bearings dry out making it harder to start. This drives more current through it and this burns out the thermistor. If you do the fix here make sure you oil the fan bearings too. http://www.fixya.com/support/t3588983-lg_lhd65ebl_serial_603taac20984

Why does my haier dehumidifier leak on bottom

Are you emptying the pan regularly? A dehumidifier takes the moisture out of the air by condensing it into a catch pan usually located at the base of the unit.

I just need to see the manual because I've lost mine and the buttons have been adjusted from how I had them set. I just want to set it to my liking.

You might look on the internet, or call the manufactor and get it from them.

Whirlpool Basement Dehumidifer is freezing

IIt may very well be that the the air intake filter needs to be removed and cleaned. But, before doing this, turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Allow the unit to completely thaw, before removing the filter.Never operate the unit without the filter in place, As this could damage the unit.

Hope this helps you & thanks for choosing FixYa.

My humidifier runs continuosly, but is not

There are 4 basic, yet solvable reasons for what you described. Please pay particular attention to numbers 1 & 2..

1. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 32-35%.

2. Air intake filter is dirty or clogged. Turn unit OFF, & Unplug the
Unit, before removing to inspect & clean it, if necessary. If washed,
allow filter to completely dry before reinstalling. DO NOT operate
the unit without the filter in place. As it could damage the unit.

3. Obstructed air flow. Maintain a minimum of 12 to 18" of clear air
space around the entire unit.

4. Cooling coils are dirty and need to be cleaned. Use warm water & dish washing liquid to
clean the coils. Rinse and wipe dry. Apply a light coating of WD40 to the coils.

If none of the above solves the problem, it may be a case of the compressor needs to be recharged with refrigerant gas or that the humidity sensor may have failed. These things usually occur in units that are 5 years old or older. It's rare in a unit younger than that. But, it can happen.

I hope this helps you to troubleshoot & solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

New Whirlpool gold dehumidifier last summer. Used

Kim, it may simply be a case of the humidity extraction level being set to HIGH. Lower it to 35%. If it's an analog unit (No LED Display) turn the humidity extraction knob to Maximum. More often than not, this will solve the problem. If it doesn't the humidity sensor may need to be replaced.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Dehumid....ad70usso....runs all the time

There are 4 basic, but solvable reason for what you described. Please pay particular attention to numbers 1 & 2. Also, keep in mind, basements stay moister longer than upper rooms.

Whirlpool Gold Dehumidifier -The lights are all

You have what Whirlpool calls a Type 3 Control Panel. If you don't have the unit operating in Continuous Mode, the fan will operate only, when the compressor turns on to extract the humidity, based on the level of extraction you have it set on. If you haven't already,.set the control on Maximum and Continuous Mode.

If that doesn't solve the problem, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit for 15 minutes. After the time has elapsed plug the unit back in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Hopefully, the 15 minute timeout, allowed the unit to reset itself and revert back to the original factory settings. If so, you can set the controls as you like.

To further assist you, I have an included a link to your Owner's Manual, in case you have misplaced your. You can download and print it for future reference.

The hose discharge does not work

This may be as a result of a clog in the hose or inside the hose connect tubing of the unit. When this happens, water continues to go into the bucket. To troubleshoot and solve the problem, follow the directions below.

1. Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit from the wall outlet.

2. Disconnect the hose (which should be no longer than 5 feet) and inspect for clogs. If any found,
remove them.

3. If the hose was not clogged, use an 18" long plastic Zip Tie or something similar. That is flexible and appropriately sized to fit into the hose connection. NO wire coat hangers, though.

4, Carefully, insert the Zip Tie and continue to push it in, until you reach a bend in the tubing. You must gingerly work it past this bend, until the Zip Tie bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie.

5. While pulling it back out, rotate (twist) the Zip Tie. This will help dislodge any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared for some water to follow.

6. Reconnect the hose to the coupling and make sure that it has a downward slope and no kinks or significant beds. The water drainage relies entirely on gravity. Then turn plug the unit back in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level at 32 - 35%.

Hope this helped you solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Only the fan is running Thanks. Douglas Bisson..

Mr Bisson, there are several things that can casue the problem you have. All of which a usually solved very easily.

1. Dirty or clogged air intake filter. Remove and clean the filter per the manufacturer's instructions. Clean the filter once every two weeks, as part of routine maintenance.

2. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower the setting to 35% or lower.

3. Obstructed air flow. Maintain a minimum of 12" clear air space on all sides of the unit, while in operation.

Any or all of the above can cause the problem and are easily solved. I hope this helps to troubleshoot the unit and solve the problem..
