Whirlpool ET8CHEXSQ Dryer Questions & Answers
Wont turn
The model number listed above is for a refrigerator. It sounds like your belt broke or the Idler assembly failed. Not very much in parts cost. You will have to take the dryer apart to fix the problem. It is a minor problem and usually worth repair.

Whirpool gas dryer not heating up
Take a volt meter and call for the unit to come on. Take the connector off to the igniter and check for voltage to those wires. If you get voltage but it does not start, then you know the igniter is bad. It could also be a limit switch. There will be 2 wires that terminate to a small disk with a button in the center. Depress the button firmly to reset it. It should be located near the burner. If it is the timer, you will need to locate and isolate the power wires leaving the timer and check voltage there. Hopefully this information is helpful.

Door latch
If this is a nylon door latch a new one can be ordered. These are usually a push in piece but getting the old broken one out may be the hard part.

Whirlpool dryer model wed5300sq will not heat just replaced the heating element
your lint filter is on top so you have to remove the back wall but you know this because you changed out the element.if you look at the outside of the heater box you'll see thermostats on it,most likely the high limit thermostat is bad and usually pops if the dryer hasn't been cleaned out,it's the top t-stat.try this, first check the t-stat with a meter to see if it's open,if it is remove the t-stat and throw it to the floor a few times with the connection side up.all it is inside it is a piece of metal that bends when it heats up and it opens the thermostat, when youthrow it and it hits the floor it bends the metal back to it's original shape and it will work or you can buy a new kit,it comes with the high limit and the bottom t-stat it's part number 279816.but don't change it out without checking it with a meter first,if you checked the element you wouldn't have changed it out.also check the thermal fuse over to the left, whenever you check a part you have to remove at least one of the wires and always unplug the machine that you're working on,all you're doing is checking the part so you don't need any power to do it just a meter.also on the left side, remove the four screws that hold the metal lint filter duct on and pull out the lint filter and remove the two phillips screws in front of the filter and clean out the duct.also if your vent line is long remove it from the back of the dryer, stick a leaf blower into the line and blow it out.if you don't clean out the line and the duct you'll just keep popping the t-stats.good luck and let me know how you make out.

Check out this site

these guys sell covers for your fridge and ones to match your other appliances. These are vinyl and magnetic covers which are so much easier than paint. Again, so much easier and neater than paint and the effect is better. They even have stainless steel. I hope this helps you.

Dryer Running Hot
Check and clean, if necessary the vent hose.
If you vent hose "seems" to be clean then, try running the dryer with the vent hose off.
If you are running too hot you are not moving enough air thru the system. It could be that the fan blade is plugged up.
The problem could be a large lint ball build up in the center of the fan or a sock, thin pants,a pen, etc. that has gotten into the fan by falling down the hole where the lint screen is normally inserted.
You have to find the air restriction to solve the problem.
It also can be a loose or worn out blower wheel/fan.
