Yaesu FT-2900R 75 Watt 2 Meter VHF Mobile Transceiver Amateur Ham Radi Questions & Answers
I have a yaesu ft2900 ham radio when i key the mic it turns off then comes back on help
You have all the making of not enough power to operate the radio and it shuts down to protect itself. Hook the power leads directly to the battery terminals and keep the leads as short as possible. The more wire you have the more resistance and the more resistance the less volts your radio can see. Also be certain you have a good ground connection
How to turn beep off when transmitting
all the beep is for is so people can tell when you are done transmitting. There should be a push knob or button or just a plain old knob that has R.B. printed next to it . Turn it off.
Ft 2900r yaesu all i see on the screen is B0001 i can't see the frequency
Try powering the unit up while holding the Set/MHz button. I did that and it restored the display (and the rest of the radio's operation) back to normal. The character codes are test-mode displays that correspond to frequencies (in MHz):
A0001-A0640 - 136.000-143.9875 in 12.5 KHz steps
B0001-B0400 - 144.000-147.990 in 10.0 KHz stepsC0001-C2081 - 148.000-174.000 in 12.5 KHz steps
I haven't the foggiest idea why this isn't in the manual somewhere, or at least flipped back to normal by a two-key or three-key reset.

Yaesu 101ex has no reccive or transmit
The problem is likely the TX/RX relay. If it is old (and I am sure it is) the contacts likely need to be cleaned, or the relay replaced. It is a common enough relay if you want to replace it. Also, pull each PCB card and clean the contacts with a pencil eraser. Pink erasers are OK but the white ones are better as they aren't as abrasive.
Hope this helps, VE3CMQ
Yaesu ft-100d. Does not rx or tx. Frequency readout blinks on rx. On tx frequency blanks out and icon upper left indicates tx-off. full reset and no change. exchanged local unit and no change.
I am not sure, but this usually indicates that the PLL has lost lock. These days, it could be as simple as a poorly soldered connection. I don't recommend that you try repairing this yourself as there are essentially no user serviceable parts in radios these days.
Radio repairs these days have come down to board swapping because the parts are so tiny that humans have a hard time replacing (and in some cases, seeing) the parts. Yaesu US has a very good reputation for quality repairs so I'd suggest you send it there. They will likely just swap a board out, but that will be less expensive than having someone spending 10 hours trying to find the problem and repairing it. I know, as I work in a radio shop, and if it isn't something real simple, all we can do is do a board swap.
