Make sure your roof vent is not clogged immediately. If you are in a full service park, you should be running on electricity not propane. You don't describe the gasses you are smelling, if it is ammonia, your frig is probably done for.

Ammonia is the primary ingredient in the cooling process. What happens is the ammonia is boiled and then sprayed throug an orfice. The spraying creates the cooling (heat removing) effect. If you are smelling ammonia, your boiler has developed a leak.

You can purchase replacement units to install in your present frig. Some people have success with this. My experience was not so good. I spent about $225.00 plus shipping for a rebuilt unit (with a 'core' charge). I did the work myself. I got about a year out of the rebuilt unit before I simply replaced the frig with a new replacement 3 way Norcold. My new Norcold was much improved over the earlier model and included a ice maker! It was expensive, however, at more than $1300.00. Hi, if the burner lights in the 'gas' mode, the control board is OK. You most likely have a leak in the sealed refrigerant system, and you need to have the leak located and repaired. Quit playing with it ... absorption refrigs work slow ... and do not recover well ... If yours has a thermostat ... set it a little lower ... check it in the morning ... use a thermometer inside. Keep track of the temps.

Putting warm food in the frig will result in a big slowdown in recovery.

If it won't cool on all 3 power sources the cooling unit is probably faulty. Contact Thetford asap if the unit is uner 3 years old as it should be under warranty. Thetford won't sell a replacement cooling unit, their only answer is that you need to buy a new fridge at over £600. I have this problem too and am looking for another solution but to luck so far

Two reasons, first would be that the burner is dirty and needs cleaning. Second is that the thermocouple is either faulty or incorrectly installed. By this I mean that it might be slightly too far away from the flame to be able to conduct sufficient heat to keep the thermocouple open. This can happen when you park or drive and the rv is at different angles. So the flame does not heat the thermocouple enough and it shuts off the supply.

Hi, Your fridge might have a battery packed attached to it. This would be one thing that could cause your fridge lights to still function even without being plugged into an outlet. Thank you.

check safety circuit if ok possible control board or cooling unit bad if unit comes on bad cooling unit also check temp sensor if unit comes on

In most cases the thermostat is not operating as it should. First see if the probe is still in its clip on the fins of the evaporator ( the thing in the back ) if it is still in position the thermostat is most likely bad.
