NEC Electra Professional ETW-16DC-2 - Page 4 Questions & Answers
How to I forward incoming calls on my phone to a cell phone 3?
Call forward, off-premise is available on the NEC Electra Professional phone system if you have the Level II system (metal cabinet, not plastic) and you have system software level 700 (7.00) or higher. To get your system software level, press <FNC> - 3 from any display telephone when idle. The procedure to forward is (with phone idle): press <FNC> - dial 60, dial trunk access code (usually - 9), dial telephone number, press <FNC>. Additionally, your station class must be set to allow this feature (by default it is not allowed) and you may need trunk-to-trunk capability turned on in system programming (which is also, by default, not allowed). Hope that all helps.
NEED TO KNOWN WHICH NEC SYSTEM I HAVE
If your question is what specific system you have, it is the NEC Electra Professional. If your main control box (called a KSU - Key Service Unit) is a plastic cabinet, you have the Level 1 system. If your KSU is metal, you have the Level II (2) system.
Caller ID
On this system since it is an older NEC you will need to purchase some special boards that go into the system and then this would have to be programmed. This is not a task for the untrained.
Red "call in progress" light will not go off
There is no such thing as a "Call In Progress" light on any NEC phone system. If you are talking about the Message Waiting light you will need to handle the message, or cancel the forwarding or do Feature 99 Feature.
How to program a line to ring keysets
Not sure if I understand your question correctly, but I think I just learned how to do that on an electra professional. Memory block 4-1-1 lets you go through each of the internal extensions, and you can set each extension to ring when a call comes in from any/some/all of the outside lines.
to reach memory block 4-1-1, I used a multi line terminal connected to ports 1. Press fnc => hold => # => 0 => * => line key 4. Use the fcn(?) key to cycle through the internal ports, the line key buttons to map each of the 4 lines (presumably line keys 1 through 4 on your system).
As to where to get a manual, I am not sure, I have 3 thick binders... good luck
Name display
You need to do this from the main unit. Press Feature then Hold, then #0*. You will be in Program Mode. Then press Line 4. Then press 10, then you can scroll through the ports & names. You have to change the 10 in the sequence on the screen to an 18 (do this by using the * button to scroll backwards). Now, my problem is, I am here, but cannot get the buttons to spell out names?
Voice Mail
Return the NEC unit as it is not fit for a consumer. It is unreasonable for NEC to not include a troubleshooting guide with simple solutions (i.e., user friendly).
Need manual
If the VM is an in-skin for the NEC, you can't accomplish this thru System Admin via the telephone.
Speaker Phone not working - ETW16DC-2
Dear Customer,
THere is a lot products available on fone that have many facilities like conference, waiting call, msgs etc BUT there is a limitation for each model like this model which you are using ahve maximum of 2 to 5 call in conference at a time so, its may have some probelem with more persones in conference.
Try it out with limited persons conference.

Group forwarding after a delay
In memory block 4-1 for the extension's port, The Lkey for the CO line is lit green for immediate ringing, red for delayed ringing, and off for no ringing.
In memory block 1-1-77 you enter the CO's delayed ringing timer in seconds.
I wouldn't try and deal with seperating into tenants.
What I would suggest is in 4-19 restrict outbound trunk access (corresponding Lkey for CO line is lit to restrict)
For example:
Stations 1-4 would not be allowed to dial out on CO lines 5-6
Stations 5-6 would not be allowed to dial out on CO lines 1-4
This way Company A is not tying up Company B's CO lines for outbound calls and vice-versa.
Electra professional nec
I am making the assumption that only line 1 has caller-ID. Both of my suggestions require services on the phone lines themselves, and not thru the phone system.
- Line 1 needs features on the line to allow three-way calling. Then you would hit the Recall key after answering to send a Flash to the Central Office to dial the 2nd number. This takes the transfer away from the phone system and puts it on the CO. This requires more time and effort on the staff answering phones, and if a calls comes in while this is in progress, it's going to roll over to another number in the hunt sequence anyway.
- Get Caller-ID on all lines.
Conference call (how to use)
With a call in progress, press CONFERENCE, dial the internal or external number (you may have to dial 9), then press CONFERENCE again. This will join the three together.
Note: for two external calls, your extension must have the ability to access more than one outside line.
Can't get the conference call to work on the etw-16dc-2
