Download the user manual to your remote control for more details about setup. It will be best for you to visit this site, I assumes. It helps me so much to get answers to to many problems. The site name is <Electro-help>. Google for it. it is an electronic equipments service help site. you can locate this site, either at the bottom of the first page or at the top of the second by Google search. The site will appear as it is stated above, and is a blogspot site. Im sure that you can gather all details you want.
Getting the System 1 Error:
Hi. Sadly I have some bad news for you. "System error 1" on a Harmony remote means that there is a hardware failure in the memory module of the remote. This can not be fixed by updating the firmware. When I contacted Logitech about this issue in the past, they replaced my remote because it was still in warranty, I would advise getting in contact with them to get it sorted out.

Hi. Safe mode is just the remote protecting itself from either a power surge or corrupt firmware. All you need to do to get the remote out of safe mode, is update the firmware.
1. Launch the Harmony software and log in to your account.
2. Connect your remote to the computer.
3. Click on the downloads link at the top of the page.
4. Click firmware.
5. Once the firmware is done updating, update the configuration by clicking "Update Remote."

I had to change the batteries three times
Hello,
I think there is a bridge on/in the battery terminal. When a battery bridges, it becomes hot.
Remove the batteries from the remote. Get a screw driver and carefully disassemble the remote without breaking or damaging anything.
Check the battery terminal and make sure there is not bridge.
When I say bridge, I mean positive (+) and negative (-) touching together together which is not suppose to be.
Make sure no part is touching each other, assemble the remote and try again.

my harmony has a help feature on it have you tried walking through that? if not then after that try to reset the tv within the remote software then try again ok :) good luck with it
My remote will not go off of safe mode

Where to find lcd screens for Harmony 676 remote
Logitech does not sell the screens of the remote unfortunately. If I were you I would go on eBay and buy a second hand remote cheap for the screen. I did that one time and it worked out great!
Received new DirecTV HR-21-100 PVR,
Your DirecTV device is probably set on RF (
Radio Frequency), which the Harmony can't use. You will need to set it to IR (Infrared) for the
Logitech remote to control it.
1. On the original DirecTV remote press the Menu button
2. From the Menu press Select on Settings
3. Select Remote from the left menu
4. Press Select on the IR/RF Setup button
5. Use the
Up or Down arrows to change from RF to IR
6. Press Select to

1. Remove the battery, press and hold the 'OFF' button, and re-insert the battery. The screen will display 'Safe Mode!', or the 'Activities' button will be lit.

5. The remote will go through the firmware update.
6. Select "Yes", and click NEXT to update the remote.
If that does not get the screen working, then it is something with the hardware that is defective. If this is the case, I would email Logitech.

Hi. If you look around this is a fairly common problem, and all you need to do is update the firmware on your remote to fix it. To do that, log into the software, click 'Downloads' at the top and click 'Firmware.'
