Soyo DYLM1986 Monitor Questions & Answers
My soyo monitor worked for
Look for bad caps with domed tops first, then post back what you find inside.
If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Led on front of monitor is blinking. will not
In most cases it means that there is no video feeding in. Have you checked the cables to be sure they are all secure?? have you tried another monitor?(if you can) also maybe check the cable itself as it can be the problem(you can get a new one for $1or so)
Screen goes into hibernation mode and does not
Does it do the same if you hook this monitor up to another PC? It can be in the PC setting. Need to narrow down the problem before trying to open up the PC or the monitor for repair. Post back so we can figure out further.
Power Supply Card crashed. Where i can I buy this
Does the PC light light up or does the PC make any kind of sounds at all? If not, it's probably the power supply. Power supplies are not cards though. You can get them about anywhere that carries PC hardware. Be sure you get a power supply that is suitable to the needs of your system.
Anyone have a url for the drivers for winxp? for the soyo dylm1
I have this monitor and it does not need drivers.
If your graphics card supports it use the DVI connection as this gives a better display and the card will normally suggest your best resolution for you.
If you are using the VGA connection you may have to play around a little to find the best resolution that suits you.
If you get an OUT OF RANGE message you are trying to run the monitor at a resolution that it cannot handle and should drop it back down a little.
Normally 1280 x 1024 is pretty good for most people.
Hope this was of use.
Turns on and off
Hi,
Double check all cables and connections, make sure they're tight.
Could be the power supply, video card, or the monitor may need replacing.
Hope this helps
Thanks
