Canon PIXMA MP600 all-In-One InkJet Printer - Page 9 Questions & Answers
I am out of ink on my printer and it won't let me scan
The answer I got from Canon tech support is to hold down the Stop/Reset button for 5 seconds and that should clear the "Out of ink" message. I tried it and this did indeed clear the message and allowed me to use the scanner. My multifunction is the MP600.

Canon MP600, won't transfer scanned image
Wendynailart,
Your PC is freezing up for a number of possable reasons. The first and most obviouse to me is that you have simply run out of available memory to process the scanned image to a form that can be read on the computer screen. This memory is the ram in your pc and you might find that with windows and all the other applications you have running, your pc simply does not have the power to do everything.
The second reason is the number of programs you have running in your start up. You can easily remove all or some and re activate all or some. Find the "run" prompt in your start menu and type in "msconfig" You will open a screen and the last tab will be the start up tab. you can remove all or some and you can go in and out of this as many times as you like until your get only the programs you need to run on start up, such as your antivirus and internet connection. This will take some time until you get it right and if you are at all unsure, take the pc to a pro to reconfigure it.
The first thing I would suggest, and the easiest, is to pop down to your local PC store and get them to put a little more memory in you PC. If this fails to fix the problem, than you will no doubt need to have our PC cleaned up. This can be an expensive excersize, however if you value you data, it is well worth the cost to get a professional to do it for you.

have you tried to unplug the printer for a minute then turn back on?then go on your computer and delete all printing waiting to print... and then try printing something again...
Paper jammed
Put off the machine and gradually remove the paper. If any piece of the paper is cut in the process, it must be removed else the printer would continue reading paper jam. Thanks.
Printer went off. Lost power and won't turn back on.
Try "reinitializing" the device (printer):
- Shut down the computer system the printer is connected to.
- Unplug the printer power cord from both the printer and its power outlet.
- Wait at least 5-10 minutes, then re-plug both ends back in.
- Switch on the power button to the printer (if no indicator light is on).
- Restart (reboot) system.
Also, you can also rule out it being a failed power outlet by trying a different one to plug the printer into.
Good luck, and please post back to let me know how things work out, or if you have any further questions.

Hi
Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.
Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.
Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.
Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.
