Hi, My Viewsonic vg2021wm says
All the caps with the white paste or dots in the middle or swollen tops (convex) need to be replaced and jointly could be responsible for your hassle. Don't confuse a leaking ca with one that has some real hard epoxy like material or glue (usually white) holding it in place.

It will be cheaper to replace it than to pay $60 to $100 per hour to a qualified technician to _attempt_ to repair it.

Hello,A monitor that is slow to show a picture is a good indication of a power supply that is in the first stages of failure. The filter capacitors are not holding a charge correctly and it takes a bit to get up to full change and the power supply can start up. Here is a link to a repair guide that show how to open the unit and what to look for and replace to rebuilt the power supply board. The repair guide has pictures and videos to help you get it back running again.
