Does the computer stay on while plugged in? If so, replace the battery. DO NOT replace it with a cheap replacement. Please, just trust me. They are garbage. You will be out $15-20 and the time you spent messing with it. Drop the $40-50 and just be done with it.

you bought this device because what? it was cheapest? and now spending so many hours and energy to solve all those engineering errors which is result of bad hardware design. hi, go to lenovo site input your model check for latest bios if different to yours use lenovo bios update.this will tell you if the bios does need to be updated and will guide you through the update process.

If only problem is the lcd screen, if you are sure, just buy a new inverter for lcd and install it, forums like these and some sites on net explain how it is to be done

Does the power on light show on either the OS monitor or the external monitor? If so, and no picture, it is likely to be the graphics card has failed. If in warranty return.

Forgetting your Windows administrator login password. With no way to get into the system, you can’t even perform basic maintenance, let alone a thorough tune-up. Formatting is always an option, but we consider that a last resort. (Plus, guess who’s going to have to help reinstall all the programs lost after a wipe?) But all hope is not lost. There are a few ways to actually retrieve a lost Windows account password. Read on, and we’ll show you the light.

1st Method:
The first thing which you check if you forget login password. When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account "Administrator" and sets its password to blank. So if you have forget your user account password then try this:
Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys twice and it'll show Classic Login box. Now type "Administrator" (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.
Now you can reset your account password from "Control Panel -> User Accounts".

Memory is RAM, not storage space like the hard drive. The fastest CPU that fits socket S1 is the TL-68, but I wouldn't put it in your emachine because of heat and power consumption. Maybe give a TL-60 a try? They are only $5 on eBay.

If you are able to open your laptop, take out the little battery for an hour or longer. This clears your bios, perhaps there is a jumper nearby to speed this up. All bios passwords are gone then.
