Hi, Bucky!
I believe I know where to go to get the proper drivers for you so that the sound works again.
I have had to do this myself a couple of times, both times after uninstalling games I had on my computer.
You need to go to RealTek's website.
Here is a link to the website.
www.realtek.com/Once you get to the website, on the right side you'll see where it says quick links.
Click the one for H.D. audio codecs driver
This brings you to an acknowledgement page .
Check the the box, and then click on next.
I suggest that you chose an executable version of the file, that way you don't have to deal with where the zip file went to, or how to extract the files.
The executable version have an installer built-in so all you have to do is launch it, like any other program.
Then just follow the instructions and install it.
After installation, reboot your computer and your audio should now be working as it is supposed to.
Make sure that you download the file for the right operating system.
The one for xp will NOT work on vista or windows 7.
I hope this helps you out, and that your sounds works after you do this.
Good luck to you, and have a good day !
