You have to manually select the VGA option when you press input from the remote. It will not automatically do this for you.
The input button should be located between the volume and channel buttons on your remote.

The TV has probably failed inthe power supply which is a SMPS unit.

Do you mean you don't have an HDMI or S-Video output from your computer, and those are the only kind of inputs your TD has?
Or you do you mean you have the cable hooked up and don't know how to set the TV for the axillary alternate input device?

Assuming your problem is a cable and port compatibility, you may want to consider an adapter.

All computers have at least a VGA output, and this can be converted to HDMI or S-Video very cheaply. But you can also get a USB to HDMI if you don't even have a spare VGA port.

If your problem is with how to set the controls on the Polaroid TV, I can't help much with that.

The power supply, backlight inverter, T-CON board may have gone out.
First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board.
if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there are some troubleshoot you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having.

Not very likely, most 15" LCD panel will only use 2 CCF lamps, 17 and 19" will use 4 to 6 lamps, so the 19" will use more power than the 15'' LCD.

Well, at least the standby 5vdc for the processor is working but may not be for the rest.

Ok.. DOes it go into standby mode or the LED at the front is still on but you have no picture? If that is the case then you have bad backlight inverter board. If not then let me know and we continue with the diagnosis.

If it is only one channel, then the problem doesn't reside in the TV as it is processing audio and video from other channels. The only thing you could check is the Second Audio Programming in the TV setup (SAP) to ensure that an alternative audio channel has not been selected.

Have you tried all the codes for that make, some might cause what your problem is but others may activate the ones you want.
Otherwise try Curry's Partmaster.

When you remove the bottom of the stand the silver plastic oval will remain attached to the TV, look in the bottom of it, you will see a small screw, remove it and slide the silver plastic piece to the left and remove it.
