Take it back to him and ask him to sort it out as that's what you've paid him for.

Hi my Toshiba satellite p205-s6287 powers on but the screen blank

There are a lot of things that can cause this.
But the one that is in your grasp is a problem with the Memory Modules.
Open the small cover on the bottom that covers the memory.
Remove one chip leaving one chip, and rotate between the slots and the modules.
A bad ram chip will cause this problem.
Lets hope thats what it is, because otherwise it could very well be a problem with the motherboard, and that is not too cost effective to repair/replace.

This may well be a fault with your RAM, CPU or system board. Check the RAM is inserted properly, if two modules are installed try removing them one at a time and see if it helps.
Hope this helps, www.PuterCare.com

Keeps frezzing when connected to mains power. when

It sounds like a driver issue. Check for any updates to drivers for your laptop from the toshiba website.

if you have a restore disk, you may wish to back up any important information and use it to reinstall your operating system to factory default. Since it charges when turned off properly, it does not sound like a hardware issue.

Restoring factory settings on a toshiba satellite

Im not sure what exactly you have in the recovery partition ..but from what I know ..this is accessible by pressing F11 on boot ..and the info stored in it will restore the computer ..if you had vista in it before...probably will reinstall it ..so first just try to boot..and press f11 during the device displaying ..just like entering bios..and follow the instructions if it works..
another way is to install a clean operation system ...(the one that you use to have ..) by booting from cd ..(this will allow you to rearrange the partitions during install...in the moment when it sees previous OS ..and ask to choose a location for install..
after a clean install use the recovery cd that came with the laptop..
But..first try the recovery from that partition..if f11 do not work let me know and I will make some research in this matter ..

Toshiba satellite P205-S6287 the power button

Make sure the battery has a full charge, and that it's plugged into a wall socket, then try the power button. You will get the same symptoms as a bad power switch if your battery power is very low. Other than that, the battery could be bad, or going bad. If the problem is a faulty power switch, you will have to have it replaced.

Oxcoooooof

If you want the computer to boot from the CD, you need to tell the computer to boot from the CD. At start up the computer runs through each device one at a time and tries to boot from it and it will boot from the first device that has a boot log. Right now your computer is set to boot from the hard drive before the CD drive.

Always back up your computer before going into the systems bios menu.

After a backup, upon starting the computer, press F12 when the bios selection appears shortly before the operating systems starts. Once in your bios menu, go to the boot order and tell your computer to first boot from the CD then your hard drive; then your disk drive if you have one.

After you are done, you can go back into the bios menu and change it back to booting from the hard drive first.

I need 2 keys for my p205-6287

you can order a replacement keyboard from ebay and replace the whole thing. its a couple of screws and when pulling apart the laptop you must be careful of the clips. Also they probably sell them by the key on there.

Windows boot manager

Hit F8 a few times while your computer starts to boot, a boot selection screen should come up. Try selecting "Last Known Good Configuration" and see if you can boot up without running the repair install.

Pioneer (DVR-K17) DVD RW Burner

Hi, the error code that you have is a known issue from Microsoft that needs a registry tweaks. Error code means "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (code 39)". You can click on this link for your reference http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929461/en-us

To resolve this problem, remove the affected filter drivers. To do this, follow these steps:1. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit in the Programs list.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
2. Locate, and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Caution There can be many instances of the registry subkey that is mentioned in step 2. You must make sure that you are in the appropriate registry subkey before modifying the UpperFilters and the LowerFilters values. To verify that you are in the appropriate registry subkey, make sure that the Default data value is DVD/CD-ROM and the Class data value is CDROM.
3. In the right pane, right-click UpperFilters, and then click Delete.
4. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the UpperFilters registry entry.
5. In the right pane, right-click LowerFilters, and then click Delete.
6. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the LowerFilters registry entry.
7. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!!!

Thanks
