When we moved the refrigerator will not even work

When you moved the refer was it AT ALL TIMES in the upright position or did you lay it down horizontally at anytime during the move. Anytime a refer is allowed to be in the horizontal position, it should not be plugged in for a minimum of 8 hours after set in the upright position.

Freezer fine, refriderator is warm

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it'll the board.

Part 49 in this DIAGRAM is your air duct.

A few days before we discovered that the fridge

IF YOU HEARD THE UNIT CLICKING FROM THE BACK AND THEN A FEW MINUTES LATER DO IT AGAIN MOST likely you have a bad start relay on the compressor and the overload device on the compressor is kicking out... whirlpool is known for this particullary problem and it normally is a easy fix... go to www. repairclinic.com or apdepot.com and you should be able to enter you model number on one of those sites and your looking for the compressor relay ....
to varify it is bad and prior to buyiong pull it off should be 2 maybe three wires in some cases and shake it...if the relay rattles like something broke thats your problem.... also unplug the unit the more it trys to start with the bad relay you could eventually damage the compressor if it has not already..... good luck

Light in the fridge blinking

Sounds to me the electronic defrost cotrol inside the fresh food compartment and behind the control panel above the top shelf. Part number=> 4388931 Circuit Board or Timer

sea_breeze_32.jpg You may also find that board Here in the left sidebar. By clicking here=> ER6AHKXPQ00
Whirlpool Refrigerator Liner Parts
Item 4 in photo. Unplug power first and sometimes you will see burn marks on front or back of board. If that board has been changed in the last couple years we can move down to compressor start components, I will be here to answer questions, Thanks, Sea Breeze

How to umblock an evaporator line.

Hi and Welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

Blocked Evaporator drains are usually frozen with ice. The only way to remove the ice is to let it melt by using a fan for about 2 hours directed at the freezer compartment. Then..... you would have to remove the shelving / rack and icemaker (if installed) along with the rear evaporator access panel. Before you do that... look underneath the unit at the end of the drain line. More often than not the end of the line where it enters the catch tray is where the blockage is found. You can use a piece of #12 or #14 house wiring to push through the tubing to clear the line. I have found that cable ties work great in the immediate evaporator drain area for clearing obstructions. Some of the drain funnels have a plastic screen in them that you have to remove to make any clearing attempts.
A note about removing the evaporator access panel. Make sure the unit is MANUALLY defrosted as ice has a tendancy to hold the panel in place especially in the light socket area.. Also if you do remove the evap cover... pull the top of the panel toward you to get it clear of the compartment flooring area. The light socket will have to be disconnected and any ice-maker connector unlatched from the panel before the panel will come free. The screws you are looking to remove are items 20, 19 and 34 of this link:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5140264&diagram_id=28189705#d28189705

There is a possibility that you will have to unlatch the air ducting (Item 23) to get the cover off. Usually it does not have to be removed. (Depending on model)

Thanks again for choosing FixYa,
Kelly
