Newly installed XP to Gateway MT6705 and neither
Hello!
First you need to make sure that your update hasn't disabled your network adapters.
Right click on My Computer --> Click on Manage -->Device Manager
Look under Network Adapters
Check to see that there are no "Attention Marks" (a yellow icon similiar to this --> /!\ ) If you have the attention marks, please call Dell and ask them for the free CD that has your drivers on it since you can't download them from the internet.
If there are no attention marks, right click on the devices and click on "Enable" and then you should have no problem!
Cheers!
Feedback is always appreciated!
No a/c power light on laptop
Hello Well the first thing you should check is the amount of power output to the power supply. for example the computer needs 12V but the AC Adapter only gives 9V. If that's not it then the actual green light is not receiving that information from the motherboard. that's not an issue if the battery get's filled up and the laptop works normally . If you notice that the laptop tends to shut down quickly when it's not plugged in then the battery is worn out. These things happen since the a laptop battery becomes very inefficient after 2-3 years. One more thing - try to rotate the input end of the ac adapter cable. maybe it's not making good contact inside the laptop. Hope this helps.

Any competent tech should, in a few minutes, be able to determine if this board has failed.
I would estimate the cost of replacing the board should be under $100 US unless you have high labor costs in your area.
I'm getting a message "cannot
That probably is just a "Back-Ground-#1' bitmap image-file.
Does your camera work without this file?
Can you create a "bitmap" file (using the PAINT program in the ACCESSORIES folder) and call it 'BG1.bmp', and store in into that 'corona' folder?
