How to restore factory setting on gateway model mt6705

Step 1: Restoring your Windows 7 Gateway computer to its original factory settings is a great way to get rid of pesky viruses you can't seem to remove from your computer, or simply to remove old programs and files from your computer and start with a clean slate. Your Windows 7 Gateway computer will likely run faster as a result of deleting old and unnecessary files. It's also a good idea to restore your Windows 7 Gateway computer to its original factory settings if you plan on selling it, or passing it along to a family member or friend. Recover From Windows 7 Home Screen Click the "Start" icon in the lower-left corner of your Windows 7 home screen. Click "All Programs" in the Start menu, then click "Gateway". Click "Gateway Recovery Management" to open the Gateway Recovery Management program. Click the "Restore" header, then click "Restore System To Factory Default". Click "Yes" in the "Confirm Restoration" dialog box, then click "Yes". Click "OK" in the dialog box warning you that all of the personal data on your computer will be deleted. Your computer will automatically restart. When your computer restarts the restoration process will begin. The process could take anywhere between 30 and 90 minutes. Click "OK" when a dialog appears telling you that the computer has been restored to its original factory settings and that you need to reboot your Gateway Windows 7 computer. Your computer will reboot. After the computer restarts you will need to configure Windows 7 with your personal preferences. b> Recover at Startup Turn on or restart your computer and hold down "Alt" while clicking "F10" during startup until you are redirected to the Gateway Recovery Management program. Click "Restore System From Factory Default". Click "Next" to begin the restoration process. The process could take anywhere between 30 and 90 minutes.

Newly installed XP to Gateway MT6705 and neither

Hello!

First you need to make sure that your update hasn't disabled your network adapters.

Right click on My Computer --> Click on Manage -->Device Manager

Look under Network Adapters

Check to see that there are no "Attention Marks" (a yellow icon similiar to this --> /!\ ) If you have the attention marks, please call Dell and ask them for the free CD that has your drivers on it since you can't download them from the internet.

If there are no attention marks, right click on the devices and click on "Enable" and then you should have no problem!

Cheers!

Feedback is always appreciated!

No a/c power light on laptop

Hello Well the first thing you should check is the amount of power output to the power supply. for example the computer needs 12V but the AC Adapter only gives 9V. If that's not it then the actual green light is not receiving that information from the motherboard. that's not an issue if the battery get's filled up and the laptop works normally . If you notice that the laptop tends to shut down quickly when it's not plugged in then the battery is worn out. These things happen since the a laptop battery becomes very inefficient after 2-3 years. One more thing - try to rotate the input end of the ac adapter cable. maybe it's not making good contact inside the laptop. Hope this helps.

My daughter has a Gateway

There is likely a little electronics within the computer itself that serves to control the voltage supplied by the external charger. This is often a a small, slim board and is not an uncommon failure.
Any competent tech should, in a few minutes, be able to determine if this board has failed. I would estimate the cost of replacing the board should be under $100 US unless you have high labor costs in your area.

Does your camera work without this file?
Can you create a "bitmap" file (using the PAINT program in the ACCESSORIES folder) and call it 'BG1.bmp', and store in into that 'corona' folder?

Hi i have a gateway

Hi,
The way to restore Gateways is to hold down the ALT Key andrepeatedly hitting f10 then it should bring you to a boot sequence screen thenchoose the HDD and then hold down ALT and repeatedly hit f10 again that shouldprompt the restore feature for gateway. If that doesn't work, the only way to doit is to boot into windows and run the Recovery program.

ALL DATA WILL BE ERASEDON YOUR HARD DRIVE IF YOU PROCEED. YOU WILL NEED TO ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE THEPOWER ADAPTER PLUGGED IN. DO NOT SWITCH OFF OR RESTART YOUR COMPUTER DURINGTHIS PROCESS.

Hope this helps,
