Screen reads"no maps found"

First of all connect your tomtom to your computer.
making sure your online,Go to log on.
if you’ve not created an account create one now.
If you’ve had to create an account restart tomtom home.
You should have the tomtom home screen in front of you,
Now even if tomtom home is showing you logged in, ignore
this click your email adderss in the top right hand side of the screen
and log in again and click continue.
Then click Device/disconnect device.
Now your tomtom will update itself and your maps will be restored"

yon should have a reset button on your system but by connecting to the computer shouldn't have changed anything unless you made a mistake and set uo the wrong map.
Tomtom problem
your tomtom has to be plugged to your computer and your tomtom has to be turned on in order for it to read. If that does not get it. go to tomtom.com, register, and go to your suppost page. Follow instruction on it and it should do the trick.

you may have to make a map correction on your tom tom. you can do this on the computer or on your tomtom itself.

SD card no loger recognised...
It is a common problem after an update.
I personally had to contact tomtom & they talked me through formating the SD card & starting again.

Reset the unit by pushing a bent paperclip or pin into the hole on the bottom marked 'reset' turn it back on, plug it in & charge it via USB overnight or as long as you can in the car, make sure the led on the top is green, tap the bottom right of the screen & check the battery symbol on the unit says charging underneath.

I think you'll find that you can download it from tomtom home, with full technical help online & on the phone.
I dont advise COPYING it from a friend as you will get a symbol appear on the screen with a tomtom SD card with a large red cross through it, indicating that the tomtom knows its not a genuine copy.

New tom tom device
Try resetting the device:
-Charge it until it is full.
-remove the SD card
-press the reset button (with a pen) for 15 seconds
-Hold the on/off button for at least 15 seconds
-reinsert the SD card

i looked on the tomtom website, and what it suggested worked. It stated that you should remove the sc card, charge it, and then press the reset button for 15 secs, and then replace the card. Touch wood mine now works

with tomtom turned on, remove SD card and press RESET, turn off tomtom and insert SD card and start tomtom, problem solved :))
