You need to plug your TOM TOM into a PC with Internet connection and go to the tomtom web site: www.tomtom.com
You will need a usb cable that has the "mini" usb standard connector that plugs into the TOM TOM unit. It should update automatically, but you will need a TomTom Home account (free) created. Then you can download the latest updates that should clear up the power issues. Otherwise, get a new power cord as they do wear out with daily use. -Greg

i switch my tom tom one classic on it puts langues on in alpherbetical order i tap english uk it asks yes or no i tap yes it says i have to tap screen anywhere to set some preferences i tap them all till it comes to select voice i select voice it takes ages before it goes back to the beginning

Unfotunatly you will have to purchase the map from TomTom.

try updating with the latest GPSfix updates via the tomtom home software

You will have to buy a new suction. After being in the hot car, and after suctioning up and taking down it will lose it stickingness.

I removed the SD Memory card & re-booted the Tom Tom now working again

Your SIIRF ( staellite chip has burned out) This is usually caused by overcharging, or connecting the DC plug when starting the engine.

hi, it is important to update your sat nav at least once a week on your pc, then it will update your devices gps quickfix. that should solve your problem ! (i hope ) :)

I saved the map on to my computer from the tom tom in Tom Tom Home and installed it on to a new SD card and now it working perfectly. I bought a 2mb SD card for £6.70 put it into a card reader and connected to computer and installed map and it gave me the instructions to put into device (Tom Tom) and switch on to connect then off and back into card reader to finish. Then I disconnected device which is important to do by the way put the new Sd card into Tom Tom and it is workink perfectly. I hope this help others who have problems.

First. Make sure on your firewall settings that it allows the GPS through the system. It should have a check mark next to the box. Also make sure you have the latest driver downloaded and updated for your GPS system. You should be able to download the driver from the Magellan website.
And for your information, Norton program is a pain in the **** when it comes to allowing programs through the computer. I use Avast. It is free and is the next best thing to Norton.
