Tomtom One Europe v2 GPS Receiver - Page 2 Questions & Answers
Is Liverpool a place to go for a cheap European Break?
Liverpool
is a beautiful place to visit with its historic destinations dating
back to the medieval times. Even the buildings that lined the streets of
Liverpool reek of ancient times but are kept to their architecture even
to this time. This is also the place where the Beatles started their
singing career as a group decades ago. Liverpool is hosts to many hotels
in the city to include hotels Liverpool
situated at the very heart of the city and near most of the attractions
of the city like the Liverpool ONE, Echo Arena, Albert Dock, a variety
of theatres and music venues, the World Museum, Tate Liverpool,
Merseyside Maritime Museum, the Beatles Story and the Cavern Club.
Tom tom one xl wont accept SD card with map on
If you have TomTom that have the slot for SD card, then it should accepted the SD card. The instruction for how to use the SD card is simple, but it is hidden in the TomTom Home, that's why it's difficult to find it. Below are the instruction how to use the SD card.
1. Format the SD card (FAT32) and do not stick the SD in the slot yet
2. Run Backup (connect TomTom device to computer)
3. Disconnect TomTom from computer and turn off
4. Slide the SD into the slot and connect TomTom back to computer (choose "yes")
5. In the TomTom Home menu, Choosen Backup & Restore >>> and choosen Restore
TomTom Home will add all applications to the SD card. So the internal memory still have the applications and the SD card also had the same applications. Everytime you slide the card in, TomTom will automatic detect and use it as its primary storage, if it not detect, you can go to the device menu and pick the device to connect to.
Whenver you take the SD card out, then TomTom will use its internal memory.
Hope this helpful
Tomtom fault
Having upgraded my Tom Tom ONE Europe with the latest application download and the latest Europe Maps, the device will not now switch on using battery power. The battery is fine, but the device will only switch on when power is present at the USB port. As I performed the two upgrades one after the other I do not know which introduced the change (poor practice by me I'm afraid!) No solution as yet.
Tomtom one 125 easyport mount won't stick
The soft vinyl suction cup has two ears. Behind the ears are two depressions in the mount ring. The vinyl shapes itself into the depressions and forms two tiny gaps when you try to stick it to the windshield.
Place a pencil or other small round object between the ring and the soft vinyl part. Bend the vinyl outward. You may not be able to see the difference, but it should now stick
Tom Tom no sound
Let the battery get full charge.
Take the SD off.
On the bottom push in the RESET at least 15 SECONDS.
(It will go off, but it is resetting)
After that press the POWER ON for 5 SECONDS
Put in back the SD card.
Done.... easy!!!!!
No signal gps
Are you indoors (inside a house, building, garage)? The GPS must be able to "see the sky" in order to get a signal. Please note that it takes a while for it to get a signal once it does see the sky. It must sync with several satellites before it can pinpoint your location and this takes a few minutes. If you are inside, move next to a window.
If you are outside, check to make sure that the GPS is near the windshield (or window of your car) and you aren't under the cover of trees or other objects. Anything between the satellite and the sky will obstruct its ability to sync. Unfortunately, they sometimes have trouble getting a signal on a cloudy day, too.
I have tomtom in uk and i am going to india. so
Yes but won't be a very useful exercise. Because, you will have to purchase a new map of India, install it (provided you have an SD card slot) or install it to the hard drive (provided you have the space) and switch the maps. Very easily said than done.
Most important of all, I do not think, Tom Tom offers a map of India. It would be best to buy a cheap one that comes with mapmyInida maps pre-installed. My one suggestion would be look for a GPS where you can navigate by latitude and longitude input as an option. Since most towns/rural areas do not have street/Avenue intersections, locating your destination in Google and feeding that lat/lon to your GPS would enable you to use your GPS far better in those conditions.
If you travel in Inida with a GPS on Lat/Lon inputs, I would definitely like to hear your experience. Send a Personal Message on
[email protected] please. Check out Mapmyindia.com. Garmin seems to have India maps and GPS in the Rs. 8000/- range. Costlier compared to US prices though.
I have tom tom in uk.
yes but you will need to buy and install the map software from Tomtom for that part of the planet
