Microphone stand

this confused me too! if you havn't figured it out already there is an adaptor screwed into the mic clip to work with standard mic stand mounts. in order for it to fit on the desk stand that comes with it, you have to to first unscrew the adaptor sitting inside the barrel of the mic clip. then it will be the right size to screw onto the stand.

No recording?

The static after several seconds seems like this is a problem with certain versions of OS X. You might be able to fix it by downgrading or upgrading. Apple Forums say that it's fixed in 10.5.6.

You can double check that this is the problem by trying it on a Windows computer.

Samson G-Track Pro USB microphone's red LED is flashing

When the G-Track Pro's red LED is flashing, there are two possible causes:
  1. The input level is too high and is clipping/distorted. If this is the problem, it will only flash briefly on loud peaks, and if you turn down the mic gain or instrument gain, the LED will stop flashing.
  2. The input and output sample rates are mismatched. If this is the problem, the red LED will flash rapidly all the time, and will not go away even if you turn down all the knobs.
To fix problem 2, you need to set the recording and playback rates to the same value. (Problem 2 will only happen on Windows, Linux, or Android, not on macOS or iOS, because these operating systems never request more than one sample rate at a time.)

My mic seems to pick up internal noise even when muted

Hi, You can check you the connectios or the mic. remember that the mic is too sensitive, you can adjust it with the nobb on the mic by putting it on o -dB and reduce the highs on your mixer or EQ to reduce hiss sound.

But fisr check the connection properly to see if when muted, is muted properly.

Take care.

You need to reduce the buffer size of your DAW and use ASIO4ALL to get low latency monitoring.

Direct monitoring, plugging headphones in, the right side is quieter than the left side.

You have to slide the switch on the front of the mic to the Mono position. You're monitoring in Stereo mode, which is only for when you plug a stereo cable into the input jack of the mic. When using the microphone itself, always put the Monitoring Switch in Mono mode.0a08a992-b4ca-4d4e-af74-53f7136ceeb0.jpg

Hi i have connected the Samson

This is because the G Track's Mic signal is on the Left channel and the Instrument signal is on the Right channel. You are making a stereo recording when you should be making 2 mono recordings. Does Nicecast have an option to set the track to mono Left channel? Traktor should, but I haven't used it so I can't tell you where the option is. There's probably a Track Input drop-down or something like that.

Static Noise

Is it a hissing noise or a distorted crackling noise? If it's a hissing noise then it's due to a bug in Windows that adds 30 dB of gain. It's easy to work around, though: Go into Recording devices, Properties button, Levels tab, right click on the level number so that it shows in decibels, and then adjust the level to 0 dB. It's supposed to be at 0 dB but Windows 7 defaults it to 30 dB for no reason. This isn't a problem on Windows XP or OS X.

Can a Samson g track mic be used with the new iPad?

Yes, but the iPad doesn't supply enough power for the G Track to run headphones, so you will need to use a powered hub between the mic and the iPad.
