You need to get rid of the pictures in the internal memory. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions. Then, your card should work properly.

Turn the flash on. Find the button with (lightning) and pres it until it says flash on.

It's no problem at all to get them back. Do not take any more pictures, and remove the card from the camera to lessen the chance of you overwriting some important pictures or videos. There are VERY many freeware software options available to help you recover your files. Please see this blog article that reviews several of the better freeware recovery programs that you can download. You may need to use a card reader with these programs though.

2. Clean the battery contacts.

a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from

your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft,

clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera

3. Without the memory card,turn on your camera.

I had this problem with mine once. It turned out to be a problem with the memory card. Remove the memory stick and power the camera up. Did that solve it? You may still be able to use the memory. Plug it back in and try again. Otherwise it may need to be replaced.
