If the message asks what to do with the disc, choose ignore. Then go to disc utility and try mounting it from there. the new mouse is delicate and sensitive, both of which can be turned down in system preferences. the "gestures" on the mouse are such that the screen moves when you swipe your finger. Gestures can also be turned off in System Preferences under Mouse
