I have an apple imac g5. It won't turn on.
It's probably burned-out electrolytic capacitors in the power supply section or on the logic board (to other technicians on this board, yes they do burn out - cut one apart and you'll see the paper around the plus lead is turned to charcoal). Those are relatively low-cost components ($0.40 - $1.60, depending on the size), but require technical expertise to replace (ability to change parts on multi-layer boards with lead-free solder, and observe electrostatic discharge precautions to prevent damaging the board). Burned-out electrolytic capacitors are often readily identified by visual inspection - the tops will be bulged out and often have material leaking from the vent. In the photo below, a bad capacitor is shown next to several good ones.
If this is the case, insist that your repair technician select new capacitors for high ripple current and endurance (at least 8000 hr. rating) as well as the same or better temperature rating. I've found the Panasonic FR1 series capacitors work well for this application. United Chemi-con's EKZN series should also be adequate. They may cost a few nickels more than other brands, but the money is well worth spending.
Does not start up the screen does not turn on and no sound coming from it
Simple fix try this first - be sure the power cord is plugged into the back securely. Check the A/c outlet or power strip for voltage.
Next simple fix: Pull out the plug, let the computer sit over night. Before plugging back in, hold the power switch on for about 5 seconds. Plug in and try to restart.
Otherwise the problem is more complex: Try this site: http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT2173

There is no graphics card in a G5 Mac. It's built into the motherboard. Not really replaceable, without many hours of work, plus the board costs more than the machine is worth these days.
How to best use the desktop
Hi,
Generally, i recommend not keeping too many files or folders on the desktop. May be just temporary items, but clean up regularly.
Thanks,
John

The GPU is built into the motherboard; it's not a separate unit.
Eject imac might be stuck?
How I do it: Depending on your exact model, there should be a very small hole located near the CD tray - usually below the tray. You may have to pull the bezel door/flap open to find it (see image). CAREFULLY take a paper clip end, for example, and push gently (but firmly) into the hole while the computer/CD-ROM drive is off. That should force the tray to open a bit and you can pull gently open with your fingers from there.
