Krups XP4030 Espresso Machine - Page 3 Questions & Answers
My espresso has grounds in
Hello. It is time to give your machine a thorough cleaning. Run 2 cups of vinegar through the machine and also clean the filter. Finally, consider the kind and grind of coffee you are using. If it is not designed for making expresso, that alone may be the problem. J.
Steam nozzle flies off and has scolded me twice now
the nozzle is holding too much pressure. This usually occurs because of blockage. It may be that the outlet hole has become clogged or was a fault during manufacture. You may be able to poke a paper clip up the hole or even drill very slightly larger. This will fix your problem
My milk steamer is no longer steaming
From your message that it is clear that the steam is coming but it is not sufficient to heat the milk, so kindly call the customer care to sort the problem as you can't do it
Thank you.
The machine doesn't make the same good tasting
did it sit with water in it. or was water left in it the evaporated but left buildup on the bottom of the reservoir. Maybe a good cleaning is all it needs. You can get cleaner usually at locations where the sell the machines.
My espresso quit working and the steamer wont work
how doomed it is depends on how handy you are...
First check if the unit has an illuminated power switch or indicator of any kind. If so check if it is lit. If it is not lit, it may be as simple as a power cord problem which can be checked by a voltmeter.
Otherwise, several things can go wrong:
1- a loose internal connection. This will require redoing the connection in a similar manner to the original.
2- a bad heater. This will require a replacement parts
3- the thermal protection is blown. This can be purchased from an electronic component store for a dollar or two and will require soldering or crimping.
All of the above requires basic electrical knowledge and a voltmeter.
If you are not handy and the unit is worth more than a 100$ then a local repair shop may be able to fix it for 40$ to 60$ (mostly labour as parts will never exceed 10$)
Water goes directly to drip tray instead of to the brewing head.
Have the same issue with mine. Descaled it all and wouldn't even brew with no coffee OR filter in the housing, so I took it in to get it checked out. Turns out it's the solenoid valve that needs replacing. ~$60 part plus $90 labor, so I've decided to try and find that part and DIY, if I can. I'll let you know how that turns out!

Hi,
Try Sparky's electrical at Albion they seem to be the repair agents now. I got the last stock seal for an older and smaller model today.

2 cup basket for xp4030 is clogged--won't filter
This happened to me too... A couple things to try: Soak basket in a descaling solution & super hot water (like PuroCaff). If you're talking about the actual filter, a guitar string actually fits perfect through the hole to unclog.
We have an XP2070 and it won't turn on.
Most likely you need a new power module. The transformer could be faulty and is not providing the right power to the display/control module. The replacement part is < $60 but it is not easy to do the replacement since you have to disconnect just about all the connections.
Leaks water in the counter.
I fixed mine for 25p... you need to take the back off, and the tank holder out (2 screws each). There is a very thin pipe that comes out the pump - that is the leak.
Unclip the little clip and pull out the pipe and fish out the black o-ring out the hole.
Buy a new o-ring and put back together... no leaks =)
