Toastmaster TUV48 UltraVection 1400 Watts Toaster Oven with Convection Cooking - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

Mine worked for awhile, then started overheating. I (former appliance repairman) found that the fan needed oiled. While I was checking it with the outside covers removed, I saw that two of the connections on the top heating element were arcing and burning! This accounted for a strange smell.

You will first need to open it.
- > Follow the Power cord into your machine, look for a fuse or a thermal fuse on the way to it's destination (The Main PC Board) Fuses & Thermal Fuse examples:

Normal Fuse:



Thermal Fuse/Cutout (Can be various sizes & colors):


Check these components first, what might have happened is that the element may have tripped (Fuse) or the cabinet got too hot thus activating the safety cut-outs (Thermal Fuse/Cut-Out) - If the culprit is found, it needs to be replaced. Found at most Appliance Spare Outlets.

There is no fuse. Take back cover off and all bottom perimeter screws. Outside cover pulls off towards rear once you get all the ** little screws out. Chances are you will find burned connections on the heating elements poking out the sides of the heating chamber. Try cleaning these and squeeze them tighter before reconnecting. Good luck!

The problem is with the heater (bars) connection, which would be under the cover on the left side. Caution ! You're dealing with electricity which may cause a fire. That said, the solderless connecters on the heat elements and the wires probably need replacing,that's all,I did it to mineand it worked. DON'T forget the caution!!!!

I got my Toastmaster TUV48 UltraVection second hand.
Had no manual.
Found it at Kitchen Manuals website.
I registered, downloaded manual.
End of story.
