Emachines are noted if they don't boot up the mother board has gone bad. Also the power unit goes bad on most models taking the motherboard with it as well. I have two setting around as parts units now the parts few years and have inquired into many websites about these PC's. I was told to replace them instead of repairing them for the money. I hope you will investigate my findings as well
Laptops are the way to go now a days for they are easy to move around and the power packs are under $10 to replace. Lap tops are even at the $300 range these days at Wall Mart too

E640 REBOOT
Hi John,I see you mentioned you update IE9 then you now get a blank screen...If I may ask the blank screen showed up after the update or did it show up after restarting the computer? If your getting a Blank screen when you boot into windows after the IE9 update, try rebooting then boot into Safemode.Restart you computer then as soon as you see the Boot screen of you computer keep on Tapping f8 to get a list select safemode, then once it boots into safemode windows will load up in safemode on the issue and you can navigate arround to fix things that went wrong.click on the Start Button on the lower left of the task bar then, click on Programs, select accessories then select system tools, look for system restore then select the option select a different restore point, on the window you may see a list of restore points hoping your system restore was turned on in the very beginning, once you have selected a restore point keep on clicking next then a warning will show just click next again then it will restart your computer.System restore allows you to restore to a date where you had windows working fine without any problems so if you can get a restore point before updating IE9 then it is possible that you may be able to fix you windows back the way it was.I hope that this will help, michaelvincentc

Emachines t5212 overheat message then shuts down
Three causes of ovheating:1) Dust. Dust inside the computer, Dust around the vents, fans, cpu and heat sink. Take a can of compressed air and clean the dust out of the computer.2) A Fan not working. Make sure the fan inside the Power Supply where you plug the power cord in works. Also there is a fan that sits on top of the CPU and Heat Sink. Make sure it works. Normally the system will give you an error message if the fan is not working.3) Thermal Paste - The Thermal Paste around the cpu and heat sink has dried up or is too thin to keep the unit cool. Apply a fresh coat of Thermal Paste on the CPU and Heat Sink.
I have an eView 17f3 computer monitor that was
well that is 17,000 volts there 17kv and can be lethal .
CRT is cathode ray tube and 2nd anode is 17kv, 1kv per inch screen.. we use a chicken stick to discharge that.
one guy gut hit here and flew across the room ,hit head and next up paramedics deep.. not fun to see that. ive taking 600v but never again.
vaccum seal, why do that.???
send it to the , toxic lead recycle center, let them do the danger work
when I was only 16yo I worked in TV shop and I had do that "nnipp" that in the bud on all CRT sent off to refurb. (or toxic trash) (we sold them all here, you name it)
we had to remove the socket there find he glass bud there dead center and full PPE, and snap it with wire cutters and it sucks in air fast. later in military too on old radar scopes, i worked .
the vacuum inside is pure and prefect, zero gasses.
implosion hazard exists. a glass flies in the bounces out and hits you and then next up blind i one eye. leave CRT alone to the trained.
