Need to reset the mmsi
Did you ever solve this problem. I have just purchased a little Leisure 17-SL with a fairly new one of theses radios. I have the handbook and discover you can only program the MMSI once and then return to a dealer to clear it!

GPS RECEIVER LEAD
Connects to a GPS receiver for position indication.
• An NMEA0183 ver. 2.0 or 3.01 (sentence formatters RMC, GGA,
GNS, GLL) compatible GPS receiver is required. Ask your dealer
about suitable GPS receivers.
Color code:
Yellow: NMEA IN (+)

Speaker out
You will need to take the face off the radio and replace the speaker. I would recommend taking the radio to a marine electronics shop unless are comfortable with soldering. The speaker will need to be taken out and replaced with a similar speaker.
Some reception produces a crackle noise
Check the antenna PL259 connector. It sounds like the ground (shield of the coax) is not attached properly. I would recommend replacing it with a solder type connector and solder the shield to the outer ring of the connector and the center conductor to the tip of the connector. If the problem still exists, I would recommend trying a different antenna.
How to program the emergency rd button on IC-F43TR
First do you have the correct software? Second do you have the correct programming cable? If the first two are OK you are half way there. Open the program and download the radios info to the program, it's that little computer icon. Click on "common settings", you will then see "key & display" click on that. You should have a small window with all the buttons including the red one. I hope this helps.
Icom vhf radio
i have the same unit. i get interferance from my depth finder wire touching the antena wire off the back of the radio. make sure that no wires are touching the antena wire.
Handheld Marine Radio
This applies to all battery powered radios. Take out the battery and measure the voltage to see if it is indeed charged. If it's not, then the fault is the charger or the battery or both. If the battery voltage shows that it is fully charged, then clean the terminals on the battery and on the radio with a pencil eraser to remove any corrosion. If still no joy, then look up in your user's manual on how to do a reset. If you don't have a manual, get on the ICOM website and download one.

I just bought a new boat and need to buy a boat
Never buy a trailer with the same capacity as the weight of your boat! This can be very dangerous! Instead, make sure the trailer's capacity is at least twice that of the weight of the boat, all your gear, and the boat's motor.
