I think that the lamp has gone out in your tv. You should try changing it out. I work with many tv's with DLP's and it almost always is the lamp. YOu can order it online, there is a slot on the side of the tv were you can change it out through there, the lamp should have a number on it. And its pretty simple to do. So there you go..and I could have gotten you a better deal on your Tv.

Tv have a word "LAMP" on it front face frame bazel?Yes,than this tv model have a projection lamp it is dying requirement of the projection lamp replacement.Tv can be save.Not no "LAMP" word on it the front bazel frame.Not repairable,because it is using CRTS-tv tubes tech.Sorry it is garbage tv time,those CRTS tubes are dying,not worth replacing and cost almost the same as a new tv itself,if u can buy it refurbish CRTS tubes anymore all.

how long have you been using this TV and have you ever changed the TV bulb since you have been using it?

It's seems the bulb of your TV needs replacement for your picture to be bright again. This problem is a symptom of a weak bulb.

Turn off the TV, wait for about 10mins, get a screw driver, open the TV back cover and you will find the TV bulb at the back of the tube. Unscrew the bulb and replace it with another.

Note that you are asked to wait for about 10mins before opening the TV back cover because TV stores current even after it is turned off.

Sorry it is not that simple. The problem you have specified indicates multiple problems with the tuner circuit. It is not possible to test this without special equipment(to compute waveforms). Replacing the board is the most cost-effective solution.

most likely you need to clean it from dust.
it is easy to do:
1. unplug the power cord from the socket
2. unplug the power cord from the computer
3. un-screw the screws that holds the cover of the computer
4. clean all the fans- best by blowing air at them
5.close the cover along with the screws.

You may have to call AKAI to get some kind of diagram. If they are identical cables though I think it may just be power cables and they can go into either slot and work the same in both.

the lamp is running out of mercury gas and is starting do give up I recommend you get a new bulb
