Seems like this is a problem with this model, try the following: Upgrade the firmware of your router: ► you may find the exact model number and version number underneath the router itself on one of the stickers. If it's a WRT54G v5 upgrade the firmware, make sure the firmware version is 1.00.9 and above. To find the firmware version: ► open up internet explorer ► on the address bar type in the numbers 192.168.1.1 ( username just leave it blank, password as a default is admin) ► go to the status page: look for the firmware version To download the firmware: ► go to www.linksys.com/downloads ► search for your product model number and version the list ► click on downloads for this product ► firmware ► download firmware ► usually the file you download is a zip file so extract the contents 1st To upgrade the firmware: ► go back to the 192.168.1.1 page ► go to administration ► firmware upgrade ► browse for the files you extracted and use the file that ends with a us_code.bin ► and then just upgrade Then reset the router for 30 seconds and voila ur done with the upgrade! here is Linksys' 2nd level T/S phone# 18668705819 If I could be of further assistance, let me know. Internet connection problems

Sorry but that seems to be a pretty convoluted explanation. Here is how it should go.
Vonage unit connected to phone line(s) and cable modem. Linksys connected to Vonage box. Computers connected to Linksys.
Ethernet has a length limitation of about 300 feet before you need another switch (hub) or a repeater. Does your wire length exceed this?

Step 11 and 12...

I would guess you didn't do it in the correct order.

Are you 100% positive th  Ethernet cables are in the right ports?

Check the one that goes from the modem, to the router.

If that doesn't help, would you let me remotely control your PC and see what it looks like?

Wireless Router Reset

Linksys reset
The easiest method of resetting your Linksys router’s password is to reset your router back to the default factory settings. This is done by simply holding down the reset button located on the back of the unit for at least 30 seconds. Once the router has been reset, it must be reconfigured. Using your web browser go to URL address http://192.168.1.1. You will then be prompted to login to your router. A log-in screen asking for the password will automatically appear. At this time enter the default password “admin”, in lower case letters into the password field. The username field may be left blank at this time. (Note: both the default username and default password are set to “admin” on some of the newer Linksys router models).
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Connection problem

You can try to hard reset the router and update the firmware. Follow the steps below.

1. Download the latest firmware of the router from Linksys website. Save it on your computer.
2. Hard reset the router. Press the reset button at the back of the router for about 30 seconds, unplug the power for 20 seconds then plug it back in.
3. Connect your PC to port 1 of the router and access the router's setup page http://192.168.1.1 no username and admin for the password
4. Go to Administration tab > Firmware Upgrade sub tab.
5. Click Browse button and browse for the firmware file that you have downloaded from Linksys site. (.bin file extension)

After the upgrade, do a hard reset again. Repeat Step 2. Then you can reconfigure the wireless settings again.
Hope that helps.

Slow speed

If you are connecting wirelessly, what you can do is change the wireless channel of the router by accessing the router's Setup Page. The distance is also 1 factor so you need to stay in a good range. If you are hardwired to the router, you can try to change the MTU of the router through the Setup Page as well. MTU value should be Manual 1492 and save the changes.

I cannot connect to the internet with the wireless router

I had the same problem when I switched to comcast from sbc you need to power down your modem and either press the reset button or remove the backup battery if it has one for about 30 seconds. power down your router as well. Connect everything back the way you want it and your modem will lock onto your router. You see, once the modem locks on you cannot simply plug it in to another component without restting it to open roam. Hope this helps.
