That blinking is telling you an error code: if it blinks 11, 15 or above times then the control processor is damaged - that would explain why it malfunctioned before total failure. In that case the only thing you can do is to replace the entire board and the rest of the tv should be thoroughly tested for another hidden defects. Here you can find a service manual of sorts for it

Where is the ballast board

In order to reach ballast you have to remove optical block. Ballast is usually covered with metal shield. It's located on the right hand side of optical block (if to look from the back of the TV). and it have two black thick short wires that connected to the lamp cartridge socket.

I have a mitsubishi 1080DLP

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. You’ll need to reset the TV and to reset it follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the television and wait for 5 minutes.

2. After 5 minutes unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.

3. Let the television remain without power for more then 1 minute.

4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. If the television is plugged into a power surge protector, remove it from there and plug it directly into the wall outlet. Turn on the television. If the issue is resolved, then the problem is with the power surge protector and not the television.

If the issue is not resolved then this might have happened due to over-voltage. Please check the power supply unit for swollen/bulged capacitors and burnt wires/components on the power supply board of your TV. You should try and turn off the TV for 8-10 hours to reset it. Please make sure to turn off and unplug the TV for at least 1 hour (this will drain off current from all components especially capacitors) before you perform any repairs. Also note that the TV consists of very high voltages even when it is in OFF condition. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder components.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

TV does not turn on.

hi,

There could be many reasons. but, more often, it would be

failed communication on the Circuits Board.

You need to Open the TV, unplug the

wires from Circuits Board, pull it out and check it.

More often, you would find either a Cold Solder

connection or Leaked / Bulged / . bad capacitor .

Possible causes can be from a resistor , to the low voltage

regulators on the SMPS , could also be from the feedback circuits

either in the " Power Supply Unit " or the Ballast Circuits

here are the simple operational check for error code

could be of much help to you if you can possibly

have one, only with a fee.

You need to note down the part number and you could order

electronic components

online or go to your Local Electronics shop and

purchase it. Once you solder it, it would be all set.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for choosing FixYa for assistance. I hope that my

information proves useful to you. If so, please take a moment

to provide me with a positive rating. I'd really appreciate it.

Blinking Green Light on Mitsubishi DLP 52525

The 52525 is definitely going to either:

1. have the caps on the FMT/DM board replaced (not something I'd recommend you do yourself)

2. have the electrical chassis rebuilt (as sometimes, you can replace the caps and still have the problem).

wait time: 4-8 weeks
cost to rebuild: $400-$500
cost for labor: $200-$400

Wd 52525 52 in dlp tv screen needs cleaned

all you have to do is, take the 12 screws out from around the screen, from the back, there are also like 4 of them on the front, but usually , you can just lean the screen out far enough to use a swifer sweeper in there, and the dust isnt going to be on the back of the screen, it will be on the projecter, do the screen while the tv is on, then you will realy see the dust on the projecter

Light engine problem?

if your looking through the vent at the backside of your lamp cartridge if the sparks are coming from the right side thats where your ballast circuitry is on that small circuit board the wires may not be properly connected or you may need a new ballast let me know if I can help you any further but before you go any further since its a hard chassis to get apart you may want to consider getting a service manual if you do just post me a model number and I can supply a link for you and they also give free online tech support with the manuals
