The dvd open/close will not work. It does not open

Mine does the same thing, it appears there is a white plastic piece of the track that slides is broken. If I take the cover off and look in the front right hand side I can push it with a pen while pressing the open button and it works. Now if I could replace the plastic piece I would be all set.

My VHS tape won't eject, no matter what I do

Take the top of the case off, then you can remove the tape, manually; after you shut down and removed from the powerline.. Maganavox has tape take up problems, which it needs to power on to eject, after auto shut down.

Trying to play a vcr

Hello,

Check the back of the VCR, you will see Video, Audio Out and Video, Audio In.

Connect a RCA wire from output of the VCR to Input of your TV.

The RCA comprises of Yellow, white and red. The yellow wire is for visual (display or video) and the red and white part is for audio (sound). Find an image of RCA wire below:

walesarumi.jpg

Connect one end of the yellow wire to "video out" of the VCR and the other end to "Video In" at the back of your TV. This is responsible for display.

Also, connect one end of the Red/white wire to "Audio Out" of your VCR and the other end/part to "Audio In" at the back of your TV.

Make sure the VCR is turned on, then press Source/AV on your TV remove and the VCR will display on the TV. Also make sure a VCR Tape is already playing in the VCR so that you can get a signal.

Good luck.

I have a model# mwr20v6

I just had this problem with mine. I took the top and front cover off and discovered that the belt drive on the right side of the VHS tape assembly was off. It is fairly simple to get back on with a pair of the small spring loaded needle nose pliers meant for electronics work. Unfortunately I was not able to repair mine at the pulley that is driven by the motor was worn out and cocked sideways which is what threw the belt off in the first place. It was not economically feasible to fix it so into the trash it went.

Hope this helps you.

VCR tape loads and runs about 5-10 sec; then ejects

you need to clean the vcr with a cleaner that you can buy at a store. If that doesnt work then you need to take the 4 or 5 skrews out that hold the top on and look at the motor and gears move while you put a tape in and you should spot the problem pretty quick. It'll be with the round metal wheel that turns the tape.

How do I transfer a video from vcr to dvd on

Use the Dub video feature. This will work if the source is not copy protected. Make sure you have a writable (or rewritable) DVD with sufficient space available in the DVD tray (closed) and put your tape to dub in the VCR.

Press Setup on the remote and navigate down (up/down arrows) to Recording and press OK. Then select Dubbing Mode in the next menu level and press OK. When the Option menu opens, highlight VCR to DVD and press OK. Press Setup to exit this menu. Choose a recording mode using REC MODE on the remote. Press Play and then Pause when you reach the point where you want to start the recording (press quickly if you want to dub the whole tape; you will lose a few seconds while the dubbing starts so include 5 seconds extra if starting later in the tape). Then press Dubbing on the remote. The duplication will start. Press Stop when you reach the end of the section to record.

I hope this helps.

Cindy Wells
(only the Setup and Rec Mode buttons do not have a matching button on the front of the unit. The later steps (setting up the start point, starting the Dub and stopping it) can be done with the remote or the buttons on the unit.)
