Sharp AL-1655CS Copier Questions & Answers
I have a Sharp Al 1566 Photocopier,Printer,Scanner
H4-00 = Low heat roller temperature detection. This is usually caused by either a blown heat lamp or a blown thermal fuse.
Sometimes the error can show up for no particular reason. Try resetting using the following sequence:
#,*,C,* (hash, star, clear, star) then enter '14' and then press the start button.
The machine will reboot. If the code comes back you'll need to check the lamp and fuse for continuity (having removed the fuser from the machine first!)
Hope this helps.
F2 error code
Improper cartridge (destination error, life cycle error)
The destination of the machine differs from that of the CRUM. The life cycle information is other than "Not used (FFh)". toner chip riplas
Reset code mode
You should call for service if this machine is under contract. If you are unsure or have the slightest doubt about your ability to perform any of the steps below please contact MRC (we are located all over California, visit our website at
www.mrc360.com for a location near you); if you are outside California, you should contact your nearest Sharp dealer.
Under the left side there is a scanner lock which is could be in the wrong position. If it is locked, the scanner will not move creating a grinding noise. If it is not locked, the scanner rails may be gummy and require cleaning and oiling.
Optics can be accessed by removing back cover, unplug document feeder. lift feeder up and back to remove. remove small screws securing glass {4} clean rails and lube w/ teflon oil reassemble.
Again DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS if you are not COMPLETELY 100% confident that you can, correctly, complete the task. If you are not, then please call a professional, it is not worth ruining your copier to save a few dollars.
Error code L1-00. Its not the plastic lock. Can't
L1-00 Error means: Feeding not completed within specified time after starting feeding (Also could be the scanner head lock is on) where the scanner head rests under the cover there is a sticker with a small black line and if there is very little difference or machine is unable to detect the calibration strip then it gives a L1-00 error, sometimes resetting the machine helps, But i would suggest cleaning scanner shaft and tracks , and apply one drop of machine oil on shaft and a very small amount of vaseline on the tracks and make sure it runs freely, NOTE when manually moving scanner head make sure machine is OFF , and gently above the shaft and not in the middle ,NB ! Never ever ever remove the small circuit board on scanner unit!!!If you do you buy a new unitand check if scanner motor is plugged into mother board
System error L3-00
L3-XX codes have to do with the scanner system. Most likely the scanner lock underneath the scanner (where the paper exits) got locked. It should be a round plastic knob. If that it not it you need to check the travel of the mirror system and lubricate the scanner rails. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH OPTICAL SCANNER SYSTEMS DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR IT. IF THE CABLES SLIP OFF YOU ARE DONE. I've been a copier tech for five years and it took me four hours to restring the optics cable on a Kyocera and eliminate the skew.
Solution for systen error E1 00
The error means a problem with the image memory board that is located at the back of the copier. Assuming you have already powered the copier off and on to try and reset the code, unplug the copier and remove the top cover or auto document feeder. The back cover comes off by removing 3 screws on the top of the cover, and a couple of screws on either side. As you are looking from the back of the copier, you will see two circuit boards on the left side, one on top of the other.. Remove the scews from the top board, pull it out slightly and push it back in making sure you have it seated against the board underneath it. Tighten the screws on the board, replace the rear cover and the document feeder. Plug the copier in and turn on the power switch. If you still have the error code, the IMC or Image memory board (the circuit board you just tried to reseat) is bad. You can call your local Sharp dealer for a replacement, but it will cost you a few hundred dollars. Add another hundred if you want them to replace it for you. If the board is bad, consider the cost of repair versus the cost of a new copier.I have had these IMC boards go bad before, but sometimes just reseating the plug that connects the two boards together resolves the problem..
