Pioneer CDJ-800 Turntable Questions & Answers
Cdj 800 not reading disc until warmed up
Downtown Radio was one of my Authorized Service Centers when I worked for Pioneer. They are no longer in business. The issue that Nathan is having, is quite different than a loss of power or ground, caused by an bad IC Protector, which is merely a complicated fuse. Unfortunately, I think you damaged the Optical Pickup(laser) when you installed it. This part, as well as most parts in this unit, are ESD sensitive and without taking the precautions, that pickup may be useless now. Pioneer 800 mk1 eject disc when powers on
Well, the optical pickup is not able to read the disk. First off, did you use ESD protection when you installed it? If not, it may already be damaged. CDJ-800 Mk1 No sound output!!!
Not true! CD channels don't require a pre-amp and the cartridge for a turntable does. I suspect that when the power went off the mixer was still on, so that when power was restored it came back on. However this resulted in a surge inside the unit. Magnetic cartridge pre-amps are often very sensitive to this kind of thing and will sometimes fail, while everything else works fine. This would result in no sound from the record decks, but sound from CD players etc.
Power problem, CDJ wont turn on propperly as it is from the US and i live in Birmingham UK
The step down adapter should work fine as long it supplies the voltage and any other ratings shown on the turntable power supply indication pannel. However the problem might already have happened. If the fuses were before the power entered the mains transformer of the unit, then if they were set to blow above the USA voltage then things could be OK. However if the the fuses were in the secondary output from the transformer then the mains will have caused possible damage to the transformer. Maybe even elsewhere.
Cdj jog wheel does not feel smooth. it grinds
Yes, it can be fixed. You may have a bad jog wheel or the micro switches that reside beneath it. For more information, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. You may contact me directly through the website. Thank you.

CDJ 800 MK2 -
For the record I own a pair of CDJ 400's. This is an odd problem as I could only really think of one problem. It may be extremely dusty inside to the point where it is not allowing the spinning of the discs. Try your best to also see if something was jammed in there or if anything at all is stuck. Your going to need to do a bit of cleaning in there and that's honestly my best advice, good luck!
My cdj 800 is not reading cds.

Does the pioneer cdj-800 play mp3?
Yes it does. Pionner's CDJs are compatible with mp3s since CDJ200.
