Login error

by default the Belkin does not have an admin password- if you are locked out, locate the recessed reset button on the router, and hold it in for about a minute- this would reset the router to its default configuration and security I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/susan_42b401e0b1603d8a

I want to find out

it depends on what you specifically want to password-protect: a. protecting the network from unauthorized users? b. protecting the network's admin interface?
for a. - log into your network's admin interface (usually http://192.168.0.1) - go to the category of wireless security - select the type of network protection you are looking for (strength - i.e. wep, wap, wpa2) and set your password following the steps listed within your router's admin interface...
for b. - log into your network's admin interface (usually http://192.168.0.1) - if you have never done this before, then your username should be filled in as Admin and leave password blank and hit enter.... from there, you are able to change or at least add a password to the interface from unauthorized access (usually under category security)

How to change my nat

1. Click on "Start" in Windows XP. Go to "Run", and type "CMD" (without the quotes.) Click on "Start" in Windows Vista or 7. Type "CMD" (without the quotes) in the "Search" box.

2. Press your "Enter" key and you will be at the Command Prompt. Copy and paste the following command into your prompt:
Ipconfig /all

3. Press the "Enter" key to execute the command.

4. Look through the list of names until you see either "Default Gateway or IPV4 Gateway" and write down the numbers next those names. The numbers will look similar to 192.168.x.x

5. Open Internet Explorer and erase your homepage address from the address bar. Type in the Gateway IP address you wrote down, and press "Enter". This will bring you to your router configuration page.

6. Enter your router password. If you do not know the password, open a second Internet Explorer window and search for the default password for your router.

7. Click on the "Administration" link on your router, look for a setting called "UPnP" and change it from "Disabled" to "Enabled".

8. Click the "Save Settings" or "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page. Exit your router configuration and you will have an open NAT.

Sorry dont have a Belkin router with me but this should be explicit enough for you to be able to look for the UPnP and do what i said.. If possible send me a screenshot of the Router interface i will help you more with it if you cant..

I need to reset this so i can lock it i suppose?

If there has been a password already set that you don't know you will need to reset to factory defaults. If there isn't one look here: http://portforward.com/default_username_password/Belkin.htm and find your router and try the default username and password. If you do end up resetting to factory defaults then look at the link above and use the default username and password to get into your router.

Well it has no secruity

  • You can configure WEP or WPA. But you cannot enable both at the same time.
  • You can configure MAC Access Control list and also enable WEP or WPA for additional security.
  • After you enable wireless security features on the router, you must configure your wireless clients with the matching settings. Your wireless clients will not be able to connect to your network unless you configure matching settings.
  • It is recommended you enable these wireless security settings from a computer wired to the router.
    1. Connect a computer to any one of the four LAN ports of the Belkin wireless router.
    2. Open your web browser and type the router IP address of the router (by default, the address is http://192.168.2.1.) in the address bar and press Enter.
    3. Click Login on the top of the page to login to the router. By default the Password is left blank, click Submit.
    4. Click Security under Wireless menu.
      1. Under Security, Select 64 bit WEP (or 128 bitWEP).
      2. Select Key 1 and enter any 10 hexadecimal digits - any combination of 0-9, A-F (26 digits if you selected 128-bit as the encryption strength). You may also enter a pass phrase and have the router generate a key for you.
      3. Apply the settings. Please write down the key - You will need it later to configure your wireless computers with the same key.

My belkin wireless g plus

1-In order to get your router back to the original settings, you must push in the reset button (usually on the back of the router) for somewhere between 10 and 30 seconds depending on the router. You may need a pin or something small to push in the button, because it can be recessed. Once you have reset the router, the username and password will be changed to the defaults, admin and password, respectively. One thing you must remember is that resetting the router will change all of the router settings back to the factory settings. This means you will lose all of the changes you made since you got the router. Make sure to write down any things you've changed, so you can change them back after the reset. Also, I recommend updating to the latest firmware after the reset.
